Sorry For What? – image 1

America All right I have stayed on the fence long enough, but after seeing that "We're Sorry" web page I can no longer justify saying nothing. The opinions that follow are mine and were not influenced by outside sources. I do not watch the news, I read information from all sides of the political spectrum and form my own opinion rather be spoon fed as most of the rest of the nation and world is. What do I, the United States of America have to be sorry for? Nothing! Bush was re-elected with a majority vote, beating someone who was until a few years ago a nobody. Who the hell was John Kerry anyway? I have no idea, he just appeared one day and started running for the office of the President of the United States of America. It was my opinion then that the Dems made a poor choice when they selected Kerry, especially when they had a few other bright stars that could talk their way out of a paper bag. Heck even Al Sharpton was a better canidate then Kerry. Think about this for a minute, how many of you thought JFK was a great man? Do you realize that his politcal views would put him to the right of George W?Anyway back to the main question here, what does the United States have to be sorry for?

Sorry that we are the only super power left in the world?
Sorry because we send aid to other countries that need help.
Sorry for invading Iraq? Sorry for killing terrorists?
Sorry because we helped to exterminate the Nazis?
Sorry for rebuilding Europe and Japan after World War 2?
Sorry for being the only country to land on the moon?
Sorry for beating the British, the Spanish and the Mexicans while building our country?
I will tell you I am not sorry for any of those. Had we not won our wars when the country was formed, there would not be an United States.
Had we not helped to defeat the Nazis during WWII, the europeans would probably be goose stepping around still today.
Had we not helped to defeat the Japanese during WWII, most of Asia would be speaking Japanese
Had we not helped rebuild Europe and Japan after WWII, thousands more would have died.
Had we not spent 11 months airlifting supplies to West Berlin (with help from the British) thousands would have died.
Had we not landed on the moon, someone else would have eventually.
Had we not been the first country to recognize the formation of the Jewish state in the late 1940s, there probably would not be one and thousands more Jews would have died.
Had we not invaded Iraq and captured Saddam, there would still be that wild card of what is he going to do. Granted we did not have all the current information, but even the Dems last great President was saying he needed to be removed. Or was that just more of his double talk? The US has had a history of being involved in the Middle East whether we liked it or not. I am sure some recall their history lessons about the Barbary Pirates boarding US ships and seizing our sailors, then demanding money for their return? We put up with it for a while before we taught them a lesson about our resolve. We have dealt with Libya, Iraq, Iran, Afgahnastan and a few other tin horn dictators.

Now if you all want to go and cry your eyes out because Kerry did not win, I would like to say get the hell out of My United States Of America. Go move to Canada (sorry Tim) or France or somewhere else where they like weak minded pansies.
We are not a weak nation and by showing the world what a bunch of f'ing pansy this place has the potential to turn into only makes them laugh at us more. The US has once again shown the rest of the world the meaning of leadership. Leadership is no laughing matter, unlike the UN.
The UN just looks like a bunch of monkeys screwing a football, they can not find the door in a white room even if it was painted black. All the more reason why the United States of America should kick them the hell out of here. We do not need their rules and laws and world bank bulls..t. Yes the United States is part of the world, but we have enough of our own rules and do not need some one else telling us how inhumanely we treat our prisoners or whatever else. This brings up another item that is a pet peave of mine of late. Why do folks from other countries dislike me and the United States of America so much? I heard a song recently by a German band that is anti-America. They are complaining because we have exported our lifestyle to the rest of the world. Now there has to be a demand for McDonalds, Coke, Pepsi, Nike, Levi, Camel, Marlboro and other products to be shipped to other countries. If in one instant all US products instantly vansished from every other country in the world, what would you all be doing now? No more MSTS (though some would say good riddance) or whatever other Microsoft product you can not live with out.
I am just curious here, I am not anti any other country. But I am Pro USA. As some of you might have noticed I have said "I the United States of America" and "me and the United States of America". I say it this way because I am an American, I am proud to be an American and if some one picks on this country whether it is from within or from with out I will defend her because I am America!Regards,

RE: Sorry For What?

I'm going to stay out of all of the politics on this one, however with regards to the song Amerika, is the song anti-America, or anti Americanization of the world's cultures. Perhaps if I had the printed lyrics I could do a better job of translating than listening to the music allows me to do. Anti-America would imply that they hate the US, anti-Americanization would imply the fact that you're in Munich on a Sunday and the only place you can find to eat that you can afford is an F'in McDonalds (pissed me off).

RE: Sorry For What?

Ok I'll add another two cents and add that for the European community that doesn't think the US should be fighting foreign dictators should visit the American Cemetary in Normandy and remember why all of those crosses are there. Or does anyone here think that maybe the US should have stayed out of that war, particularly those that were in the occupied countries?

Bush "barely squeaked by"??????He won the popular vote by 3.5 million
He is the first President in 4 election cycles (16 years, since Bush 41 was elected in '88) to win a majority in the popular vote, instead of a plurality. (He took 51% to Hanoi John's 48)
He won 286 electoral votes, to Kerry's 252, a 34 vote marginI hardly call that squeaking by.

Had we not landed on the moon, someone else would have eventually.
Does that really have an relevance? If I didn't take the last cookie someone else would have

I don't see anywhere in my original post where I am gloating and/or strutting around. Is my chest puffed up too?
My reason for posting this was in response to the topic "We Are Sorry Everybody". It is unfortunate someone as smart as you can be so narrow minded as to think that any political comment posted by someone on the right is automatically gloating over the Bush re-election. Further more if standing up and saying I am proud to be an American and I am not sorry the people elected a strong president is offensive to you, too damn bad.Now as for your "Please, stop it." whining, pansy comment in your opening statement.
This part of the reason why we have a bunch whining kids (and grown ups) now days. They were raised without values. When they did something wrong they received no punishment and were told by their parents "Johhny, that was a very bad thing you did now go stand in the corner".
When I was raised and I did something wrong, it was "Erik, go sit in your room until your father comnes home." Dad came home and I did not sit for a few hours. Shoot the principals at the grade and Jr High schools I went to carried a paddle (with holes in it).

Now if you want, I can go get my pom-poms and start a pro-Bush rally here if you would like? Go Bush, Go Bush, let's go kick Iran's tail now.EDIT: spelling Regards,

>that their candidate lost? Hypocrisy at it's finest. I'm not whining about a damn thing. He lost, I accept it, I move on. However, Bush won. The republicans play the good old "neener, neener, neener" game. I was wrong about my barely squeeked by result, I'll admit I have no idea how the American voting system works, I don't live there... thank god. What has Bush done inside the borders recently? How is he resolving things at home? By going to other countries, sticking his nose in their business and getting our boys killed? Thats how hes helping things at home, is he?Really, why is this "war" still going on? Whats the issue at hand? How does this affect the United States? A couple of countries, quarelling in another part of the world that has nothing to do with the countries on the other side of the world... at least until they come plowing through, shooting off guns left and right.I would really love to see what Bush is doing that is so good for the United States. Prove me wrong, please do. I would gladly admit defeat if someone can point out why the United States is doing good with Bush's hand on the button.

Ah I see the problem here. You do not live here and due to that fact you do not know anything about the United States other than what you are spoon fed by your local news media.I will tell you he is doing something right over here. This is the time of year where the rail industry is supposed to be slowing down. However each month we are setting car loading records and the ports can not keep up with the ships coming in. The intermodal trains are getting longer and more are running. Each week we have a few new trains running every day or every other day.
There are more trucks on the roads hauling their goods.
People can afford to purchase the limited edition 2005 Ford GT with a starting price of $250k. We are still building a record number of houses with the average price being around $300k in my part of the country. Now as far as Bush getting your boys killed, that is unfair you place the blame on him. You need to go talk to your premeir, dictator, president, chancelor or whatever.

Regarding Rammstein's song "Amerika":I think it's anti Americanization of the world's cultures, in an ironic way. No offense to the Americans. I listened to an interview a few weeks ago and that's what the band members said.Oh, and here in Germany McDonald's really isn't the place where I'd call the food "affordable".... ------------------------------

RE: Sorry For What?

I don't blame people for being anti-Americanization. However, that's a street that runs both ways! If you don't want Americanization, don't buy American products (i.e. McDonald's Hamburgers, American music, American clothes, American TV) and they'll go away. On a similar note, it's funny that everybody OUTSIDE America wants to be like us (culturally speaking), but nobody here in America wants to be like us! "We" all want to be DIVERSIFIED and INDEPENDENT. Go figure.
