“It doesn't matter where the train is going. What matters is deciding to get on.” That's one true railfan quote there, most of us will get on any train, no matter if it's steam, diesel or electric and not truely care where it goes -sorry, but that's my sphleel for the night.Member of The Cienega HS Republican Club MR SPARKLE!!! The steam engine, featured in the movie, the polar express, is going to be used for weekend railfan trips in Michigan in December. It will run from Owosso, to Chesaning and back. The stopover in Chesaning will be at the Saginaw Fairgrounds. (track ends alongside the fairgrounds property.) The large exhibit building will have activities related to trains and Christmas. The SRV club will be set up running a larger HO scale layout. I plan to be there after work in the evening on those days and will probably have the laptop set up with MSTS running.SRV Ron
If my eyes don't decieve me the Polar Express engine is a Berkshire so actually this trainset could be made for MSTS.I absolutely LOVE the way they made it look in the movie tho! /JonatanSteam rules! >Ehhh I probably won't see it. Kid movies are not really my >kind of movies. I like horror/thrillers and comedies. No way! The engine is a 2-8-4 Berkshire and the cars are heavyweight. In fact, there are pretty good graphics.

I actually liked most of the picture; only certain things bothered me, and they don't bear upon the railroading component of the story. I was, however, ready to embarrassedly slink down in my seat once that kid in the horn-rim glasses starting going on about the locomotive type and so forth. I'd just gotten finished finished telling the people I went with what kind of locomotive it was since I was so impressed with the digital representation of a Berkshire. My companions were, to say the least, amused. I wound up liking that eerie hobo, and the baggage car sequence was creepy. The hot chocolate sequence was well-executed, but I kept hoping one of the waiters would say something about riding the Standard Railroad of the World, or something. Could've done without the cornball engineer and fireman, though. Would've been better if they'd been stylized paragons of Nickel Plate efficiency.
