Beautiful.LOMAC right? The Russians have a knack for building some great looking aircraft. It's amazing how beautiful such a deadly weapon can be.Now,I wouldn't be hiding those F-15's though.

I've been having a lot of fun with this Su-17C lately in Strike Fighters:

F-15C.But as far as I'm concerned, the pilot, tactics, and rules of engagement will close the gap.In recent "wargames" with the Indian Air Force, the F-15c's weren't allowed to use what makes them the best. And they flew at 4-1 odds. The Indians have produced some great pilots and fly capable aircraft. They put on a good show. But take the gloves off and....

And in regard to my previous post: Here's the mighty Flanker in all it's glory. I like the look of the original Su-27 the best of all the members of the Flanker family: The canard fins on the Su-33 and '35 detract from it's graceful lines, and the dual-seat cockpit on the Su-30 looks really funky, as does the widened nose and side-by-side cockpit of the Su-34...BTW, I love Russian camoflauge schemes... Hey SinclairYou take your MIG-29I'll take the F-15When would you like to hook up onlineWe'll hook up online and see who is victorious !( Prepare to shell out for the cost of a new Fulcrum !! )If ya wanna bring a wingman thats cool .. I've got a guy I've been "flying" with for close to 350+ hours now ( Falcon 4 / Janes F-18 & LOMAC ) As you can tell I get a little cocky when people say the F15 is gonna loose somthinLaterTim Kent – 96th_Malice - Winnipeg CanadaProud member of the - NO TRAIL CN SD60 - club !!

In long range & in dogfight mode the Rookies always get their clocks cleaned. If you put an below average pilot in a F-16 / and an outstanding pilot in a MIG-25 and go head to head .... chances are the experienced pilot is gonna prevail.LaterTim Kent – 96th_Malice - Winnipeg CanadaProud member of the - NO TRAIL CN SD60 - club !!

>Now ... With Firefox's size and definite lack of stealth
>capability, I'm sure an AIM-120 will kock that right outta
>the sky pretty darn quick. I doubt that: The Firefox can hit Mach 6, and during the period between Operation Desert Fox and Operation iraqi Freedom, Iraqi MiG-25s evaded numerious AMRAAMs shot at them, due to the fact that they usually ran away from US fighters at maximum speed (mach 2.8), an AMRAAM will not be able to hit a MiG-25 at that speed from behind at launch ranges greater than 10km. The first kill with an AMRAAM was ironically a MiG-25, but it should be noted that that particular MiG was stupid enough to turn and fight rather than run away.

Tim,first I would have to get Falcon 4.0.(I really should).Secondly,I think you guys would rip me apart.I fly single player.Back in the CFS2 days I flew a little MP,and was average.I love Strike Fighters and CFS3 for the addon planes and moddability. But lately I've been on a big flying kick,so maybe I'll check it out. Here's a few USN and USMC AC from Strike Fighters:F-8B Crusader,A-5B Vigilante, and a couple of A-4's.The F-8 is one excellent gunfighter

Back to the F-15C.I've seen her top speed listed as Mach 2.5,2.6, and even 2.8.I've also been told by folks in the AF that her top speed is classified.Any more info on this Jonathan?Sort of like the SR-71's top speed listed as Mach 3.5.I saw footage on Discovery a while back which showed the air-speed ind. spinning up towards Mach 3.5.The video cut out exactly at 3.5,with no signs of the acceleration rate diminishing.I wonder what her top speed really is?

>said that! LOL! Yes, the F-14 is kewl. Too bad it's recently been deprived of the weapon that made it unique, since the AIM-54 Pheonix was retired less than 2 weeks ago (due to cracks found in the propellant of many of the missiles), and the F-14 itself will be retired by 2010, to be replaced by the F-18E/F Sewer Horror- err I mean Super Hornet...

Jonathan, has the Phoenix ever been fired in anger?Did a short search, couldn't find anything specific. It seems to me that weapons like the Phoenix,or the AMRAAM,suffer from highly restrictive rules of engagement.

>Jonathan, has the Phoenix ever been fired in anger?Did a
>short search, couldn't find anything specific. The US Navy only used the Pheonix once in anger: It was a near-maximum range shot against an Iraqi MiG-25 in 1999. The MiG fled and the missile missed.Early in the Iran-Iraq war, Iran's F-14s fired most of the 275 AIM-54s they had bought along with the Tomcats, and the F-14s and their Pheonixs proved highly effective against the Iraqi Air Force. Of course, the Iranians had nowhere to get any new Pheonix missiles (or new Sparrows and Sidewinders, for that matter) or spare parts, so their Tomcat force was all but impotent by the time the war ended...Jonathan Nikiforovs.

Wee-eee-eeell - if you look at the F-15 vs MiG-29 combat statistics, the numbers do not exactly come out in favour of the MiG....
