RE: 3801

It's a big, sleek, streamlined steam loco, and looks basically the same as the NYC Hudsons except for it;
has no cowcatchers,
is green
has yellow lines
changed to black and red in 1950's,
was grey at first, being a WWII loco,
and is now preserved. 3801 was built in 1943 and ran great service for years until the 1960's, when the New South Wales Rail Transport Meuseum bought it, repainted it green and yellow, and kept it in good operation. In 1970, it ran all the way from Sydney to perth, and was the first steam loco to do so, and also paved the way for the Flying Scotsman to do the same.

RE: 3801

I know. Streamlined 3801, and non-streamlined 3830! I've got both of them. It takes half an hour to install them, but well worth it! Result; one of the best runners on MSTS !There is also a D50, C30, C35, two Z12's, R class and Y class.NOTE FOR Y CLASS USERS: They arn't good at going up hi8ll, so I use them on the downhill stretch of the Innsbruck-St Anton!

Get the Footscray to Ballarat route have much more prototypical running!!!For the record....im from the other side of the country! >Mike Forster<

LMAO Adam...im sooo there!! I was thinking of going for a dip in the Yarra too! My favorite steam loco would be a WAGR S or W Class (both of which I have hand fired on the Pemberton Railroad)...or the VR R Class.The best thing though...getting rid of the all steam and whacking 80 Class, 422's, 442's, X Class, C Class...etc <evil look on face>>Mike Forster<
