North Eastern Railroad (vNERR) will celebrate it's 2nd Anniversary on September 1, 2004. Over the the last 2 years, NERR has worked with some of the top route developers, equipment developers, and activity writers in the TrainSim community, to provide a vast selection of enhanced routes, equipment (with improved real-life physics), and activities (more than 540) for its members. In order to prepare for the release of new routes, equipment, and activities to it's members in celebration of it's 2nd Anniversary, NERR has decided to release some of it's early equipment and activities to the general public. Licensing agreements will guide what releases we make.Starting 1 June and continuing through 1 October, these activities and their associated NERR equipment will be posted in the train-sim.com library. These activities and equipment have been run successfully by NERR members for over a year and should not require any support in order to install and enjoy them.As a gauge to how active NERR's members are, in the last 6 months well over 6000 activity reports have been submitted. An activity report is submitted each time a member runs an activity. It is estimated that over 15000 activity reports have been submitted by NERR members since its inception on September 1st, 2002.Releases will be done in an order that will make obtaining the equipment and activities easy. All equipment will be posted prior to the release of an activity or group of activities. Each activity will have a list of the equipment required by filename so that you will be able to easily identify any required equipment. We will do everything possible to make sure that you do not have to go to another site to download a piece of equipment. However, since Murphy's Law always comes into play no matter how well you prepare, support will be available not only in the NERR forums at http://www.vnerrforums.com/forums/ but NERR staff will also be available in the train-sim.com forums to help provide support as well.So watch the library, we're sure you won't be disappointed. Further announcements about other events celebrating NERR's anniversary will also be posted here as well.

Having run activities from vNERR for quite some time, I'll tell ya what. It doesn't get any nicer. With the way everything is tested you almost have to work at it to get something to not work.
and all the downloads for a particualar activity are in one place, with the correct file/folder names...well, you get the picture . It's a good place to be"I do what my Rice Krispies tell me to do"

RE: North Eastern Railroad Celebrates 2nd Anniversary

Today is the day!!!!That's right, today is the 2nd Anniversary of the opening of the North Eastern Railroad (virtual). We would like to take this opportunity to say 'Thank you' to everyone; staff, members, and the train-sim community, for helping to make this day a reality.

Soon...due to some updates/upgrades that are underway we needed to hold off on new members for a short period. Your patience will be well rewarded.
