Tim,Will TMTS allow route developers to define as many signal aspects as they need, or will we still be limited to the 8 selected by KUJU? It would be awfully nice to be able to do Limited Clear, Slow Clear, Medium Approach Medium, etc. as separate aspects instead of having to re-use the same aspect several times (e.g., using CLEAR_1 for both Medium Clear and Limited Clear, then using some creative script code to force the flashing green light to appear for Limited Clear). Two main drawbacks to KUJU's limited aspect set:1. All instances of each aspect must have the same speed restriction... only the draw state can be changed. This leads to compromise with Limited Clears and Medium Clears, for instance; both must be the same speed even though this is obviously not the case in real life.2. It's very tricky to get the proper approaches (Approach Limited, Approach Medium), since both Medium Clear and Limited Clear are just CLEAR_1 to MSTS.I know I haven't been as active on the forums as I'd like for various reasons, but I am an experienced route builder and signal developer and I'd be very happy to sign an NDA and get on board with the team! I've got lots of ideas and suggestions that I'd like to offer.Bruce Bridges

I havn't got to signals myself so forgive me if this is standard MSTS stuff, but I've always wondered if one could "signal" dark territory such that a train has to stop before taking a diverging route, set the turnout, and slowly pass into the siding, and reset the turnout. If that's not in MSTS, could it be considered in it's replacement?Dave NelsonWP mainline, Oakland-Stockton: 100% complete;

RE: Signals

Hi All,Remember we are using an all new game engine and building from the ground up, which, for you guys means we lose the restrictions and "Bugs" we previously had in MSTS, the downside being we may have our own, although we'll endevour to makeit as painless as possible.We have taken many steps to get the communities input and these have all gone into the "Pot" and are being taken account of as we build.Being as we are designing the sim to be as open as possible for developers to do their thing, you can assume that signalling will get lots of attention!Can't say too much at present but further down the line we will release some details of what can be done Previous Topic | Next Topic – image 3
