We thank everyone for their support. However, I live in fear of the expectations in some of the Posts upstairs. We will deliver a fine product and hope it will be the best Train Sim yet. It will be better than the current MSTS in many ways.Due to the changes we are making it will perform differently than MSTS. We hope for the better. Although, the constraints MS had when they published required a lower spec. machine. To take advantage of today’s DirectX 9 and the hardware features commonly available today we will require higher minimum specs. For some people MSTS 1 is fine, and if your hardware is low then it may be better. We will not ship until the product is basically complete. I also can not promise our code will be bug free. And I can promise there will be bug fix upgrades. Given time we will fix the reverse verligator bug. So, I do appreciate some of the skepticism. Lets keep grounded, and on course. This project is not easy to produce. Lets not place bets on anyone or anything. No flame wars before anything exists. If anybody makes an up-grade to MSTS then we all win. The community and hobby is preserved and there is still a viable market for my products. Michael

Michael,Hehe. Yes, we are an excitable bunch, aren't we? The excitement is probably best dubbed "A Renewal Of Hope". We all thought the end was near when MS announced the cancellation of MSTS2. Now, there is once again hope, and i think everyone is just excited about that.----------- BUZZ -----------Thanks for the support, but – image 1

RE: Thanks for the support, but...

I believe it is likely that it will be a much better simulator. I have TrainMaster, and as it comes, out of the box, there was really nothing wrong with it. Lack of a route editor was a minus, and lack of certain views was a minus, but the dynamics of the simulator were considerably better than MSTS.
Robert Leilich had a very good product, but MSTS basically overwhelmed the game market for this kind of a product and I am glad that RailDriver has acquired it, and plans to continue it.
If RailDriver is as active, in supporting their users, as AURANS, they will definitely do well. I believe the real weak link in MSTS was lack of support. Very early in the game, there was one developer who was active in the RouteDesign Forum and pointed out a great deal of the problems we learned to work around, then after that --- zip.J. H. Sullivan, P.E.

Once the specs have been determined, I intend to multiply all the specs by 25 and go purchase a new machine of that calibre !!Later

J.H.,
I'm not in the least trying to punish anyone, it is not my nature, neither do I prefer it. I however tried to establish a small communication with the "Higher up" at this Simulator. I have been ignored and accept it as such. Please forgive me, but I now rest my feelings.
Johan.

RE: Thanks for the support, but...

Hi Otto,
I fully agree with you, thus, I will allow him now to have as many as he likes. I do not think that the problem can be laid at Tim's door alone, because I e-mailed "Raildriver" aka Michael. ( I apologise to Tim, if he is offended, but the "Management" gave me the jitters )
I feel below their standard......I'll rather join with TA, should something eventually happen there.
Johan

RE: Thanks for the support, but...

Johan,I am sorry if I did not respond to your email or gave you the Jitters. I usually only give people the Heebie Geebies. We are a little busy with the lauching of this project. I unfortuantely must also work at my "day job" which is running the rest of PI Engineering. Tim Court is the project leader on TMTS. I will be happy to answer any questions we can as well. I really try to respond to all emails. I sometimes lose track. I recieve quite a few and some times the good ones get lost in the bad ones. Michael

RE: Thanks for the support, but...

"reverse verligator bug"? And I thought I had hit them all.I wasn't paying much attention to this, figuring TMTS would be out whenever it was out, meantime I might as well keep plugging away at MSTS. At the rate I'm going, however, TMTS is gonna beat PO&N 9 by several years.High expectations? Cut the number of bugs in half, make the bugs at least consistent so the addon developers know what to avoid, and fix that godforsaken front coupler is all I need. Anything else is gravy, and I don't care if it's backwards compatible or not - I would rather start over from scratch with a better program than carry over old bugs and limitations to the new one. I could get really creative without having this object linking and embedding garbage constantly cramping my style.
