How will TMTS be distributed. Will it be available in shops and most importantly will it be available Worldwide in particular Australia. I just hope that Raildriver do not limit the distribution to the internet only. I believe if it is only available from the internet this will hinder the success of the product reaching a wider audience.

RE: Worldwide Distribution

If I were PIEngineering I would sell the first release directly to users and hopefully having more content than an Internet Downloader could comfortably handle, on self-installing CDs !!!That way you do not have to pay commission to middlemen in the distribution channel.Once their production has been geared up into volume, Retail Packs should be available everywhere, PIE already having worldwide distribution contacts with their RAILDRIVER !O t t o

RE: Worldwide Distribution

Of course Internet sales are automatically world wide. So anyone who wants any of our products can get them. But we are actively designing for full international distribution. We even have a highly trained team of translators converting the our text to the appropriate words for the UK for example. We have had to take perfectly good words like Switch and change to Points. And what is shunting anyway? Michael

Michael, if you are seriously into this then you should be aware that Australian railways - with minor exceptions only - use British terminology and follow British practices. We do not run "railroads", they are "railways".
"Switches" and "turnouts" are "points" and "switching" is "shunting".
The driver sits in the left-hand seat (with some exceptions).Bruce

RE: Worldwide Distribution

And most important - the man in charge at the head end is the *Driver* not the *Engineer*, a term I could never quite understand the use of. He is driving the train, not engineering it and in UK parlance the Engineer is either Civil (in charge of the track) or T&RS (Traction and Rolling Stock - in charge of maintaining the trains).Isn't idiom wonderful!
