This is an announcement of a session I'm begining to develop for next Saturday afternoon from noon to 4pm Eastern. My hope is to actually extend the session until 8PM (Where ususally someone will want to host a session in the evening). I would even like to at some point have it available so that another dispatcher utilizing TD3 can continue a session.Sign up before Saturday at 11:30am can be done in this thread. I will post the trains in the next 2 days (Stay tuned). I am also in the progress of developing an MSN Group link (You do not need to be a member). The table is located at the following address
http://groups.msn.com/FloridaFunnelMSTSMulti-Player/yourwebpage.msnwThis will be dynamically updated both as I receive new bookings for trains, and while I'm dispatching I will update the site every 15 minutes so that you know what trains will be available next, where the train starts etc.I currently plan to run bi-weekly Florida Funnel sessions at the same time slot, and will save the TD3 sessions as we go along. Track guides, Daily Operating Bulletins (DBO's) will be available from the above link as well. The hope is this will keep plenty of options for those that want to participate, and will allow plenty of time to set-up the trains etc. It will also require less if no interaction from me on TeamSpeak because as soon as I see you sign in with the train number, provided it wasn't reserved then you will be ready to go.Comments and questions feel free to let me know here. Once again the official train list will follow in the next day or so. Hope to see everyone next Saturday afternoon. BTW I am open to changing the times, however once I've posted this is the one I'll go by. If I notice a trend otherwise, I can always change this next time.Take CareSeanFor information on the next Florida Funnel Multi-Player session visit...

RE: Florida Funnel - Saturday, October 23rd Noon to 4PM

I dont know but have you thought of making a simple word doc with MP's and a list of all of the crossovers/sidings/stations/etc similar to the M&M one? I mean, i dont really want to use all of my printing ink trying to printout that black TD3 shot of the line. Just my opinion, Markb

RE: Florida Funnel - Saturday, October 23rd Noon to 4PM

Point well taken. I was actually running Burch to Jacksonville last night gathering actual milepost, and signal locations not listed.I will probably post something on the site with a link here when I'm done. Should look like what you'd see in a system timetable. Will be up some time in the next few days.ThanksSeanFor information on the next Florida Funnel Multi-Player session visit...

RE: Florida Funnel - Saturday, October 23rd Noon to 4PM

Unfortunately I've discovered that probably due to the design restrictions encountered in MSTS, the actual intermediate blocks do not match up totally to the actual mileage of between control points.I've updated the Nahunta Sub with a more printer friendly version located at http://groups.msn.com/FloridaFunnelMSTSMulti-Player/nahuntasubdivision.msnwBecause there is many intermediates without mileage markers (Even some control points) then I think I may have to stick with providing a graphic image so at least the user knows how many signals he is away from the end of his clearance. I was putting in mileages based on the track monitor as I approached signals but the numbers don't add up.Let me know what you think of this. I will provide a text only version if need be, but with lack of numbers or names in the simulation I don't know how usefull this will be.SeanFor information on the next Florida Funnel Multi-Player session visit...

LAST EDITED ON Oct-19-04 AT 07:33 AM (EDT)

I realize now that the FlFunnel isn't like the M&M in that it does not have many mileposts or markers for that matter. I like what you've done with the Nahunta Sub, easy and de-cluttered, while keeping all the important stuff. Markb

RE: Florida Funnel - Saturday, October 23rd Noon to 4PM

Thanks, I'm glad you like it.I just finished the Calahan Subdivision tonight.
http://groups.msn.com/FloridaFunnelMSTSMulti-Player/calahansubdivision.msnwFor simplicity I have left milemarkers on what is in the simulation track monitor only and are indicated in black text on the map. Intermediate signals have been delegated a whole number near or at the actual mileage and have been shown in grey text.I've also included some special instructions on northbound trains approaching Calahan on how they can get to the track they need when they come on to the Nahunta Sub.The next big task will be the Jessup Sub. It gets a little harry around Waycross so I have some work cut out for me. So far I have no confirmed people for Saturday. Regardless I will have all the guides up to date in the next day or so, and will be online from noon to 4pm if anyone shows up.ThanksSeanFor information on the next Florida Funnel Multi-Player session visit...

RE: Florida Funnel - Saturday, October 23rd Noon to 4PM

Yeah, dont worry that many people aren't signing up, football season = busy time. I ran what would be Q214's route from Baldwin to the Fitzherald sub last night, because i am interested in running that on Saturday. My problem is that i don't know my plans, so i might be there i might not. That's all. P.S. The calahan sub looks great. Markb

RE: Florida Funnel - Saturday, October 23rd Noon to 4PM

Thanks, I'm glad you like it.Even if I get a small turnout it will still be worth it for me. I enjoy dispatching, and will dispatch it for the 4 hours regardless. I'm going to try and do this bi-weekly on Saturday afternoons. The reason I chose Saturdays is, every other Saturday afternoon I go out railfaning with a friend. So this was something I could count on every other weekend.I'm going to fix up the 1st map I did, then I am going to tackle the Jessup Sub tonight (the tough one). If you want me to reserve you for that train let me know, otherwise I'll keep it open for now.See yaSeanFor information on the next Florida Funnel Multi-Player session visit...

OK I'll update the roster sheet for you to take the Q214 out of Baldwin. Just login before 1:03pm with your train # - name and your all setJust a note for everyone who does show up. If you don't have a reservation, simply loging in with the train name - your name indicates to me your interest during the session and I'll add you to the master list at the Florida Funnel site. Also please be sure to check this site out for signal maps, and guidelines. I will continue to update this site ongoing.I'd add you James, but it's down right now. Hope this isn't an issue on Saturday.Any further updates will be posted on this site as this string is getting too long. You don't have to join the group to view the documents, joining will give you e-mail notification and post ability only.See ya SaturdaySeanFor information on the next Florida Funnel Multi-Player session visit...

RE: Florida Funnel - Saturday, October 23rd Noon to 4PM

Well despite the low number, I think this still prooved to be a good session. A couple people came and left, with 1 remaining. This train had plenty of action after his inbound from the Fitzgerald Sub was delayed due to some hotshots having to get off the Jessup. Once going though everyone was nice to get out of the way for the most part.I've posted a train graph at http://groups.msn.com/FloridaFunnelMSTSMulti-Player/traingraph.msnw outlining the traffic on the entire desk. This may not show exactly show the player train in sync, but for the most part gives a general idea of what is happening.P.S. my TD3 crashed shortly after the session when I was trying to print the graphs. I had to resimulate to get things to where they should be between 0230 (last save) and 0400.I've added new trains to my master list for next session in a couple of weeks time. ETA's for the trains will follow (I don't expect the traffic level to be intense as the simulation will contine from 0400 probably to 0800)AFNSeanFor information on the next Florida Funnel Multi-Player session visit...
