What? Do you mean the Train Dispatcher forum? Sure, I was trying to help someone a couple of weeks ago, but wasn't successful. If you mean the software. Absolutely! I picked up Train Dispatcher 3 a few months ago and bought the "NI Dispatch" which runs trains down the Trenton Line in New Jersey. What fun! A little too much action for me though, so I also bought Track Builder 3 to make a scaled down version of the NI territory. I'm going overboard on details though, putting in the exact block lengths from local track charts.
thats cool...i didnt know that any one still came in here....how is that track builder??? i wanna do some of the WC here up by me like the Marinette Sub and the Shawano Sub and the Vally Sub....Can you use that track builder for Train Dispatcher 2??? I just picked up TD2 and got all the WC routes for it and im just loving it....i play that game on my lap top when i am not on this computer where MSTS is so i can always have trains around me all the time....J
Yes, I believe that you can use Track Builder 3 for Train Dispatcher 2 territories. The web page for Track Builder 3 says this:"Track Builder 3 also allows the user to modify any of the Train Dispatcher 2 and/or Train Dispatcher 3 territories..."I also notcied that Train Dispatcher 3.5 is now available with the capability to interface with model railroads. Now that is cool!
Yeah that is....I guess I'll have to get TD3 cause here it says this once that you can't use Track Builder with TD2..You cannot, with Track Builder 3 create territories to use with Train Dispatcher 2. Only Track Builder 2 customers can create Train Dispatcher 2 territories....its in the 2nd paragraph...but oh well....like i said...i wanna do some area stuff around by me so i guess ill have to get TD3 or something...do they make a track builder 2 that you can make tracks for TD2 by chance??JTrack Builder 3 is a utility program which allows Train Dispatcher 3 users to design their own territories to simulate with Train Dispatcher 3. Extensive computer experience or computer programming knowledge is not required. Almost all the territories in our "For Sale" and "Customer Contributed" libraries were developed by Track Builder 2 and 3 customers.Track Builder 3 also allows the user to modify any of the Train Dispatcher 2 and/or Train Dispatcher 3 territories in our libraries. You will need to purchase a territory password to run simulations on any "For Sale" territories you modify. You cannot, with Track Builder 3 create territories to use with Train Dispatcher 2. Only Track Builder 2 customers can create Train Dispatcher 2 territories. If you are upgrading from Track Builder 2, please note that Track Builder 3 will not replace Track Builder 2. It runs as a separate program. You can now download a demo version of Track Builder and the Train Builder 3 manual (see below).Go to the Dispatch Central Message Board to hear what Train Dispatcher customers are saying (see below).A review of Track Builder 3 will is in the June, 2001 issue of RailFan & Railroad MagazineThe program requires a computer with a Pentium processor or equivalent with 24 MB of RAM, 10MB of available disk space, a CD-ROM and a VGA or higher graphics adapter. A sound card is not required.Your purchase of Track Builder 3 can be downloaded, shipped on a CD-ROM or both. You can download the full version of the program at any time; however, you will need an installation password and a serial number to install the program. The serial number will be the same as the serial number you used in Train Dispatcher 3. It can be found under Train Dispatcher 3's Help/About menu itemThe installation password will be sent to you after your order is processed. This will be automatically sent to you and you should expect to receive it within one hour of placing the order.
>Has this thing ever been used any more?? I just picked up TD3 a few weeks ago, along with the Buffalo Terminal (CSX NG) Dispatcher. It's great to listen to the scanner and be able to make sense of everything I hear. I had a couple of earlier versions of this program - the first for an Apple 2e and later an ms-dos version that I still own. Along with MSTS and Railroad Tycoon 2, it's now part of my essential software library...good to see some activity here...Tim Baldwin Buffalo NYMilepost 5 on the Buffalo Belt Line CSX - NS - CP - CN
