Oct-23-01, 05:51 PM (EST) "Trainmaster" Well, it would appear that Trainmaster has hit the skids. Their webmaster, Bonita, was laid-off. According to her parting message, the events of Sept. 11 has deeply affected their company. There was also talk of them releasing their track editor for the masses as there would be no updates to Trainmaster for many months.
What a shame. IMHO, they not only fell victim to Sept. 11th, they also got bit in the buns by MSTS. Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Nov-15-01, 09:05 AM (EST) 2. "RE: Trainmaster" Unfortunately the open market can be hard on business. I wish them well. However my TM4 has been removed from my hard drive and the software is stored in a "garage sale box" since I bought MSTS. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Dec-25-01, 11:04 PM (EST) 4. "RE: Trainmaster" I also purchased Train Master when it cost $80.00. A few months later, the price was almost halved. Then I spent money for a CD for upgrading. The major problem was that I purchased a new graphics card (ATI) and then a Pentium III 750Mhz. The program still locks up. They have been promising new software to develop routes etc for a long time, with nothing to show. I purchased the MSTS, and found out to my delight, that the program not only ran well in my machine, but I have many steam locomotives, F7's PA's and a broad assortment of locomotives, cars, and trains. With a little work from some of the masters, the trains are very realistic to the prototypes, and activities even over the same track can differ to that the use of it doesn't become monotonous. I have scrapped Trainmaster also, and do not plan to reinstall it. It just don't work. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
