RE: Amazon taking orders in Europe

Electronic Boutique taking TS2 advance orders for $49.99 US. Shipping date shown as Sept 14, 2003 - isn't that a bit wishful, considering MS is saying Octovber 1?? Bing

I hear Europe is getting first crack at this version. The first MSTS North America got first release and the last was Autrailia and New Zealand. European release is mid August to begining of September.Rich

RE: Amazon taking orders in Europe

Hmmnm - If we "Sprechen sie Deutsch" maybe we will be able to buy MSTS2 ahead of US release? Probably shipping time would take us to US release anyway.Bing

I would think that would depend at what stage the E3 version is at. You would still have June, July, and August. For all we know it could be in the process of being beta tested now.Edward K.

RE: Amazon taking orders in Europe

I found that German Railrods shop also could deliver MSTS 2 worldwide
by Air Mail. They expecting to have it on Sept 30.
I think that the development is now in advanced beta stage, which also mean that Gold Master or Released To Manufacturing would be arround August 25.
Of course, this is only my speculation.Adam

Beware, if MS are parochial then you might find they have a local route for each sales area, ie here in UK we have a route that will not be available on CDs sold in America or say Australia and vice versa.Regards John Carr

RE: Amazon taking orders in Europe

Im kinda iffy about pre ordering now. What has happened before is that I pre ordered MSTS and it was going to be on on June 1st 2001 (or somewhere in that general area) and I found it at Wal Mart on May 22, 2001. So icalled them and cancelled my pre order and they sent me my %10 down back.

>cancelled my pre order and they sent me my %10 down back. I've had the same thing happen to me. The only vendor I know for certain will handle advance orders the way I want is Chips & Bits. As a result, they are the only vendor I will trust with an advance order. C&B does not yet have MSTS2 listed. They will, I'm sure.A couple things happen quite often with add-ons such as Pro Train, et al: Distribution is impossible to predict. Has nothing to do with location either. Some vendors will have the item far in advance of others. When they DO get the item, some vendors you are not sure of what their performance is regarding filling standing orders.Chips and Bits seems to be an operation run by two groups: The group who do their print catalog is not to be trusted. In effect they claim having items in stock which have not been released, also the catalog will show items which were never even planned by the publisher, consisting of nothing more than a gaming community rumor. The group who run the shop, taking and filling orders, is the best I have seen. They have it in stock - their online catalog is current for inventory - it is shipped same day if your order is morning US EST, at latest the next morning. Difficult to imagine the two groups work for the same employer. When C&B puts up a notice for MSTS2 I can advance order and know they will ship immediately upon their receipt of goods. Bing
