do u think that you wil be able to put the models which have been created in MSTS will be able to be used in MSTS 2?i think of what FS2002 was like with FS2000 & FS98. i don't think that you were able to use aircrafts from older versions. but i hope in MSTS 2 that you are able to and the graphics do look much better.

RE: Compatability?

I regularly fly equipment made for FS2000 and FS98 in FS2002. I just rewrite the .air and the aircraft.cfg files to provide the needed data. Everything then works fine. Chances are a person with some understanding will enable MSTS V1 files to migrate across the new interface in V2.

And FS2002 comes with a conversion tool. But don't need it much though. And the word is that MSTS2 comes with such a tool as well.

Best regards,
Richard.

RE: Compatability?

For both routes and stock, or only for stock?
(then again - judging by the quality of the stock in the screenshots, who'd really want the default MSTS1 stock in MSTS2?)

RE: Compatability?

Not the default stock....But many content creators are making really good stuff. Chris Longhurst for once...... I am stressed to see if all the good ours I passed in from of 3ds Max (most of them killing polygons) are just going down the drain... hope not. I hope at least the 3d stuff creator have done will be easealy converted...as for routes... I really do not care... even after hours of work. I hate RE so much, that I do not mind putting it asside. I just hope MSTS2003-RE will be a lot better. More user-firendly.

RE: Compatability?

I know this for sure. IF it will be compatible with V.1 then I'll get it for sure, but if it isn't then I will stick to V.1 and not bother bying V.2.I also think about those poor people who have given us all these fine models and routes. It would be a shame if they'd have to do it all over again! As for the RE I agree totaly, and the other utilities too.
Just my two cents./JonatanSteam rules!Compatability? – image 2
