After reading most of posts in here this is what i got. MSTS 2 was at the E3 expo. Right? than after that Microsoft have not said any thing nor even talk about the Game and we have a "release date" of June or July but thats only from the retailers and distribution people NOT Microsoft. So I was thinking that maybe Microsoft has the game almost ready and has just put in on the back burner for some time. So I Believe that the only thing that we can do is just wait.Because we all know Microsoft is not reading nor paying attention to anything thing we write to them. "Sleep like a kitten on

RE: MSTS 2

You know what is funny about all this non-communication with MS is that on the Golf Sim Links 2003 they have a guy who Is from ths MS Links programming group stay in constant contact with us.You can email him and he will always reply with ofcourse sanitized info. But he is good with leading us in the right direction. So not all of MS is void of customer service.

RE: MSTS 2

What woories me abour "TSII" is that there is no mention of it on the 'TS' web site. All references to 'TSII' seem to have been removed. Nothing on the KUJU site either. If the release was in June I would think that 'MS' would be 'shouting from the tree tops'.

RE: MSTS 2

It still has a site:
http://www.microsoft.com/games/pc/trainsim2.aspx
but I doubt strongly it will come out in this form. The guys working on it say it is more than a year away (if it was 14 months away a month ago, it would be 13 months away now, if my math is working). I don't think there is a real release date, as the rewrite is not far enough along to know it at this point, but those folks are working on something, it has not disappeared.
Some reading between the lines, I think the version seen at last years show did not meet the MicroSoft expectations for a new release, and did not afford enough compatability with graphic standards and features. Kuju said "it is good enough", and MS said no it isn't. Thus a rewrite from almost the ground up. Maybe the folks working on it are trying to mislead me and it is almost done, but if these guys or gals are correct, it is 12-14 months away, in spite of what the dealers say?
I am just glad the work goes on, and will be happy to have a better product once it is finished.
Bob

>Because we all know Microsoft is not reading nor paying
>attention to anything thing we write to them. And how do you know that? Just because they don't officially respond doesn't mean they aren't paying attention nor reading the forums.

Again, I ask why do certain MS programs have designated Design Group liasons, to its customers, and not Train Simulator ?There is precedent for MS contact by its designers and its customers.

RE: MSTS 2

What does Microsoft have to lose? They have obviously already invested SOME money in a MSTS2, so how much money could they save by ditching the effort that looked to be so far along.Greg

Well MSTS2 is probably just "vapor ware". The development might have come to a screeching halt. "Why don't they respond to E-Mail?" Well that proves it is or is becoming vaporware. Why would they want to "suprise" people by taking off the sources too?

I just don't understand? People are still being hired and are employed, and still under a nondisclosure agreement to not discuss work on a project that has "come to a screeching halt"?? What fun do you guys get in spreading unfounded rumors? They are working on it and it is 13.2671 months away. oops now 13.2667 months.

RE: MSTS 2

You have to understand the 'Corporate mind'. Not how much they can 'save', but how much they can get on investment return by diverting the funds to a more profitable project. Ford spec $1,000,000.00 on new paint line at one of it plants. They closed the plant the day the contractor finished the line.
