I chewed them out the last time there was a post about them taking "Advance Orders" for MSTS-2, not even quoting a Shipping Date then ! Their response was that they would not take any money from you until the order ships !Now they got the nerve to actually quote a fictitious Shipment Date !Told them again that I am going to take some action to make them eat their own words, but seems that in the USA you can get away with offering Goods for Sale under False Pretences ! Still waiting for a response from the Pennsylvania State Authorities their Corporate Offices are located in. Can't get way with this in the U.K. where such advertising is punishable ! I would BLACKLIST this Cowboy outfit with regards to anything they advertise for sale !!!O t t o

OTTO, when you preorder from them, they don't charge you until your item ships, and you can cancel it until the day it ships.
So don't say they are taking money...

I think they have a disclaimer somewhere stating that release dates are not set in stone, or something to that effect.

I just don't want to see MSTS fans hopes raised, based on fictitious Release Dates, getting frustrated and disappointed !I am getting too many "Delivery Dates" quoted, most of them never kept ! O t t oEdit-P.S.: Checked my E-Mail just now and this is their response, the same as the last one. Does not explain why they are now quoting a SHIPPING Date which is not confirmed by MICROSOFT !!!

Glad I don't live there!It's the nature of the business Otto. You're barking up the wrong tree by getting mad at the stores. The stores can only quote a date they're given by the developer/publisher/distributor. If the release date gets moved back, the stores have no control over that. Some games miss their first advertised release date by several years. Stores gear up for the sale, (sometimes even advertising the product) only to find the "goods" in question never appear. It's not their fault.Stores want to ensure you make a purchase with them, so they allow people to pre-order as soon as some sort of date is announced. As no money actually changes hands until the order is shipped, this is merely putting your name on a list to insure you get one of the first copies. Your order can also be cancelled at any time prior to shipment. No false pretenses whatsoever. You're only as good as the information you're given.Now, you say they're advertising a fictitious release date, or one that "isn't confirmed by MICROSOFT"? I highly doubt they made the date up themselves. They would have to have got it from somewhere. Probably a distributor. Distributors very often add "stock" to their catalogs before it is available. They add it when they first hear a date from the publisher/developer. Since the "stock" is "order upon release" it's not false advertising by a long stretch. It's merely a placeholder for when it is actually available. No money changes hands, no goods "sold" under false pretenses, It's all above board. Happens to any retail outlet you set your foot in.As for not "confirming" the release date with M$. Simply put, stores goods are supplied to them by a distributor, not M$. As far as they are concerned, M$ doesn't even enter the equation.Make sense?-Jeff
