I'm surprised this hasn't reached this forum yet, but if you hop over to the main MSTS forum, Macster has made an announcement based on some official information that he some how acquired, and apparently our speculations have been confirmed with an official release date now February to April 2004. Also interesting news was the 'Go/Don't Go' meeting as it was put which will decide whether to go with what KUJU have given them, or start over again.~~~~~~And so the next installment of the frivolous tale of M$TS 2 continues.Stay tuned for more exciting, unexpected developments next week, and look out for our new video 'How MSTS 2 was made', featuring such important moments as 'the first announcement', 'the screenshots that gave away too much', 'E3 coverage' and 'when KUJU pulled out, thereby postponing the release date but on the other hand making everybody pull out a bottle of champagne in celebration!'.*N.B - Promotional video not endorsed by Microsoft, RRP - $9.99

RE: OFFICIAL Release Date Now 2004

Considering how screwy this hold thing has been handled by management, I wonder just how good the version 2 will be.

>Makes a good oppurtunity to rename it as "TS 2004" I
>suppose. No it doesn't as MS has been naming their product that uses year using the next year.
So, in this case TS 2005 will be more appropriate.

Forget these so called M$ official dates. We'll be lucky to see MSTS 2 this time next year.

>what would be a better time than E3 2004 to start selling TS??? Agreed, but the point is IMO there's too much to do to make that date, unless M$ wants to repeat history and release something slipshod.

I could only say that It may make it a better product for us to have. its good that they are taking the time to do so. I am not in a hurry as I just picked up Flight sim 2004 and am impressed with it.
besides with the way Train Simulator runs on my computer i need the time to make the money to buy a new computer anyway, But I am supprised how well FS 2004 is doing on my computer. I am running the graphics way up and still getting about 15 to 30 frames.
I can only Hope that I get the right combination of hardware to make it run with the frame rates I would like to see.Don Pottorff
