There have been a few threads discussing the merits of multiplayer. It's all just discussion though. There has been no official mention of such a feature.-Jeff
But oh wouldn't multiplayer trainsim be the sweetest thing goin! Imagine playing MSTS Multiplayer with a RailDriver AAR control stand. Ah, the things dreams are made of. PS: "Mile 41.1 of CN Newmarket Sub" ... right on! I quite frequently railfan the Newmarket from Washago to Huntsville.
I would be a little curious to understand just WHAT you would expect out of a multiplayer capability. For example, it seems reasonable in FS to have multiplayers and fly in formation etc etc. But TS does not lend itself to that type of operation.I suppose two players would be interesting on a steam loco, but not a major draw IMHO.Having someone act as dispatcher for one or more other players/AI paths could be a usefull extension, but I think the signalling issues in MSTS1 would need to get resolved and be bullet proof for any success.Martyn T. >But TS does not lend itself to that type of operation. I see that the most useful benefit of a multi-player option in TS would be the exchange of goods, as long hauls and such can be kept to single-player with AI traffic. Personally, I get bored just driving trains around, but give me a task such as allocating and building trains, and also allowing others to share in its support, and I’ll be a happy camper. The term “Virtual Railroad” would thus actually mean something. Cheers! Marc - 3DTrains http://www.3dtrains.comPro Series SuperPacks
>Hey there all! Wouldn't it be neat if MSTS v2.0 had a >multiplayer option? Does anyone know if that option even >exists? > >r_claxton IMHO the neatest thing would be timing steam chuffs to the axles!RegardsBob Regards Bob
