People,
I've read a lot on this recently and thought I'd add my 2 cents worth...
Now, if I have read the following correctly,
Edited Press Release
LONDON -(Dow Jones)- Kuju said Monday that it has reached a mutual and amicable agreement with Microsoft to transition its PC simulation technology and the ongoing development of Train Simulator 2 to Microsoft. As announced in the AGM statement, this is part of the restructuring and cost reduction exercise that Kuju is implementing ......it means that MS have taken the developers from Kuju as well as the code, etc. So, barring a possible relocation of staff (which may not happen until after release)the impact on the launch timetable may well be minimal.I know the rest of you think that MS will start from scratch, but this is most unlikely (IMHO) because the only people with knowledge of building a MS labled Train-Sim work(ed) for Kuju, and it is often the practice in the UK for staff to form part of "mutual and amicable restructures/takeovers". It would not make business sense to pay for the rights to MSTS2 and then start from scratch, especially after all the publicity at E3.So, expect minimal delays to the release date and probably a complete revamp for MSTS3 in another 2 years.Cheers
