Fix the electric locomotive physics model, at least get the MTE and CTE parameters in the correct relationship, and allow a line for specifing speed at CTE. Then how about getting the curve friction line to work correctly. Probably too much to ask for power limiting, transition, and shunting?? And yes, make the steam model able to accomodate very large and heavy articulated types.

-Prototypical consists (not the kind of bullshit like MSTS1 Marias Pass with 4 Dash-9s hauling 15 doublestacks or a single Dash-9 hauling 50 chemical tankers).-A way to switch cabs in two-cab locos/DMUs/EMUs etc. while at the same time keeping the left and right cabin views and headout view. A panning cabin view (like the passenger/caboose views) would also be nice-A way to have hyperrealistic physics for the prototypicality-suckers and at the same time more 'basic' physics for the casual players - e.g. having a 'realistic/simplified physics' dialog box in the options screen (although this'd probably require having multiple .eng/.wag-files and make life hell for repainters/freeware developers).-opening/closing doors on passenger cars related to the 'load/unload passengers' command-Possibilty to switch locomotives during the activity (e.g. having the locomotive you drive break down and then you'll have to switch the helper locomotive to the point and continue driving from this).-Coal disappearing from the tenders of steam locos as it is used-AI diesel locos showing smoke (like the AI steamers)-prototypical operation of horns etc. on AI locomotives/trains (e.g. making AI locomotives sound horns before crossings)-engineer/conductor/brakeman visible in engine cab, passengers visible in passenger cars (although this'd probably kill frame rates)

How about the ability to do what real signals do!Examples:-Time release of aspect, prefereable by route set (Junction Link)- so you can approach a green at full speed, but be held to yellow or red until you get close for diverging routes/call-ons.Simpler to make signal files - so that you logically work through the proposed solution, not jumping between the two files to get things to work.Setting variable speed restrictions for other types of train than freight/passenger.Be able to control Loading/unloading time at stations other than by setting a "Passengers" variable - whats wrong with min 20s max 60s?Realistic emulation of electric motors for electric powered trains - instead of just the power figure divided by %throttle set at.Just a few things I'd like to see that no-one seems to have mentioned yet.Paul

That can be very cool and i think i'm not alone to want it...
A operational TURNTABLE !!! And i hope the old add-ons like KHP/KHP 2.0 and many other will be supported on MSTS 2

A much needed RE that is stable in ALL aspects of route building.
A graphics engine that can handle more than we can cram into it!
(I hope M$ and Kujo listened to us this time around, with all the problems we've all encountered with MSTS 1, and have pretty much stated such from the start of MSTS)
Paul...

In my opinion, improvment or complete rewriting of the graphics engine is the most important item. All others are more or less eyecandy. Smooth play, without pausing with frame rate dropouts
will bring other dimension to the gameplay.Adam

Realistic cab views, like here in New Zealand we have like ditch light test, analogue power, and like lights that come on when the engine is hot, and u can switch the booster fan on to cool the engine down, walk around the cab, like pressing the Reset switch on the other side of the cab after you have applied emergency ( like this is actually going to happen , oh well, dreams are free ) And if you drive a Remote Controlled Shunting engine like over here, you actually walk around the yard chasing after it like my dad does LOL..... yeah, theres tonnes more but this is quite big.... By the way I'm new

- To be able to create a new activity while running an activity. That would allow me to run a switching activity that builds a train and then save everything, as it is, in a new activity. The new activity could be one that takes the train just built on to it's destination.- To be able to change from one engine to another while in an activity.- A more user friendly editor program for building activities, routes, etc.

How about a random car placer for the "explore route" so that it isn't just you and your train. You would select your route, check a check box that says "enable random cars" or something to that effect, a dialog box appears while loading the route, only if the enable random cars check box is checked. Here you can set the number of loose cars per mile of yard track/siding and you could also set the number of MOW equipment and locomotives per mile of siding and yard track. Click okay and the the route continues to load, and the computer randomly places rail cars, MOW equipment and locomotives in the yards and sidings. This would of course mean that you would have to define the mainline while making your route in route editor, if you didn't define the mainline random cars would be placed everywhere there is track.

that will be cool .good idea! I hope myself that it is totally customiseable to from making new an bigger turntables for the bigboy to haveing custom draw bridges that work (ie open close) and may be some boats in the watter to add to this effect.

LOL Yeah. I had another thought!!When your traction motors go under wear and tear you have a ground light come up and then when your driving along see a big fireworks display out the side of the engine, then go and change the traction motor cut-out to like 1 and 4 if 4 had a blown traction motor Now that would be awesome! (I've experienced blown traction motors What an excellent (and free) display of fireworks )

Here ya go...
* Fully functional PZB (Indusi)/LZB on the German route with all speed limit modes being represented. See here for more detailed information about how it works: http://www.sh1.org/eisenbahn/index.htmIn short, German track safety equipment will, among other things, make it difficult at best to run a red signal deliberately, and would be an additional challenge for us simmers to master .
* The ability to switch cabs, which would be especially useful on European motive power
* The option to select any of the pantographs on electrics which have more than one panto
* Support for tilting technology
* Banked track in curves
* Improved AI traffic that doesn't just creep along at 30 mph even if the road limit is 70 - yes, I've seen that happen!
* Radio communication with the dispatcher or supervisorAnd probably a dozen more items I cannot think of right now...LOL!

Dominik,
Your wishfull list seems to be realized in MSTS 3 !!.
On the other hand, I think and believe that LZB will be implemented
in someway, closely more or less to the actual used on DBAG today.
Other fanthasies like blowing up motors could be fully implemented in professional grade software with price tag of $20,000.00 not 49.95
so be reasonable.Adam

Adam,
yes, I don't really think we might get radio in TS 2, but I believe improved signalling routines and banked curves might be more likely.Dominik Mann Visit www.tssf.de - www.bahn.de - http://mercurio.iet.unipi.it/ - www.eisenbahnforum.de

For modern diesels:
-Realistic brake pipe/air brake modeling and operation.
-A working FRED so you can see BP pressure at the end of the train and know when last car is moving.
-Reaistic Operation. If it takes 30min to pump up the air on a train, I want it to take 30 actuall minuits. Just add a time compression feature to speed things up if needed.-Tennasee Pass (yeah, right).Thats all

I'd like to see them get rid of the diesels and add something that actually has some character, steamers.
Printer-friendly page | Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
Here are my preferences1.The ability to switch locomotives
2.a working turntable
3.like with passenger activities real freight operations like unloading coal/sulfur hoppers, being able to see the cars get turned over to dump its load.
4.better sounds like that grinding like noise from the wheels.
5.more realistic loco sounds.
6.AI traffic in "explore mode"
7.the ability to set the AI traffic.
8.real weather changes like it could be rainfall in the valley but once you hit a certain elevation it changes to snow or its sunny at one end of the line and rainy at the other end
9.thunderstorms included in weather.
10.more animated animals besides deer
11.railfans trackside taking pictures.
12.the ability to start up and shut down the locomotives.
13.Better day to night/night to day conversion
14.better smoke in relation to throttle setting.
15.ajustable camera to where you want it and be able to hold it in the same spot so you can watch the entire train go by.I could go on but some of this stuff would more likely be available in future versions unless a train-sim member come up with it first.
