I've searched this forum--perhaps not as thouroughly as I would have liked--to try to determine if TS2 will have the old TS1 routes. I know the activities would not be compatible, but I was interested mainly in a few of the old routes.I did see one old post that inferred that TS1 would *not* ship with TS1 routes. Does anyone know if there's been any definitive word on this from MS?Thanka, and sorry if this question has already been answered somewhere not apparent in my search.

No, the original MSTS v1 routes won't be included with the MSTSv2 product; the inclusions will be completely new.But your v1 routes will work with MSTS v2.Bruce.
That is still unknown -->Zach Lybrand<-- "I hear her voice in the mornin' how she calls me, 'radio reminds of my home far away'. Drivin' down the road I get the feelin' that I should of been home yesterday, Yesterday! Country roads, take me home, to the place I belong, West Virginia, Mountain Moma, take me home, country roads." Country Roads by John Denver
John, it may turn out to be as simple as copying from one version of MSTS across to the other before uninstalling version 1.Or, in preparation beforehand, you might copy the selected routes to a CD.I'm sure it will be a straight-forward process, John.Bruce.
I'll bet that M$/Kuju tests the TS1 content importing process only with default routes and rolling stock. So the most interesting question is: is it possible to import any third-party routes, especially those ones which uses third-party techniques such as XTracks etc.??? And how about the third-party TS1 rolling stock?
That's a good question. From I have read on their website http://microsoftgamesinsider.com/TrainSimulator/default.htm , It might be possible to use 3rd party rolling stocks and routes. I'm not sure about xtracks. I'm sure OkrasaGhia will be watching it when it is release and might come up with something for it. Really, nobody knows at the point until M$/KUJU gives us any more updates before it's released. Right now, we'll just have to wait and see.Edit; KUJUKen
