When I was gone, I saw a NS coal train with 2 SD40-2's and 4 spartan cab SD70's.

RE: Norfolk Southern Diesel Locomotives....

you'd pass out at anything NS sir.
I know you and your M.O.Personally I like the high short hoods though, bonus points for dual controls. I'm running an activity with the GP40 #1334 I think long hood forward, the way God intended.

NS SD40-2's are my favorites. NS is my second favorite railroad after BNSF, the first. No, I wouldn't pass out.

RE: Norfolk Southern Diesel Locomotives....

I don't know which NS diesels will be included with MSTS2, but if they are an SD40 & SD70, I think they would be bad choices. There is nothing wrong in including either one of these diesels in TS2, but they are both EMD-built C-C axle diesels. I think MSTS2 would be better off with a B-B axle road switcher such as a GP59 or U23B, and a high-horsepower C-C axle road diesel like a C44-9W or SD90MAC. Just for the sake a varity for the people out there who do not download engines from train-sim.com.If the default diesels are anything like what was included with MSTS1, you can be sure NALW will release their GEmegapack for MSTS2.Although I can not agree with the releasing of two EMD road diesels for MSTS2, it is not really something I am worried about because somebody will come out with some good freeware to replace these in TS2.

Well, NS uses D9-40CW's, SD60's, C38-8's, and sometimes SD70's on coal trains almost exclusively. I personally don't see how they could leave out a D9-40CW. C'mon Kuju, NS has like 1 Million of them. The spartan cab SD70 is a welcome addition though!

OhioCentral what is wrong with the EMD class locos. Before there was a GE EMD was there.GE isn't the only company out there and I damn sure wouldn't care to see all the GE stuff pushed down our throats.A good variety is always good.
