From the Screen shots I do think that Train Artisan has been working on the Locomotives as it does resemble there work.... would also explain why they are slow to respond to emails, and it would also explain there long peroids of not updating there site, surley one or two of them would be gone for personal reasons but not all of them. also along those lines the sim dosnt look to be much improved over MSTS1 as the Scenery looks simular if not the same as some already available here. I would hope like the rest of you that alot of the physics have changed and maby that is what MSTS is. Cause really it Dosnt look like the Locomotives are much of a leap beyond what some of the Developers are bringing out for MSTS 1 right now. As far as the Route Editer what I would rather see is the Elevation data and tracks to be there when one Extracts the Info as I dont think it would be much of a stretch over what Flightsim offers... there they have over 44,000 airports so why not include the USGS data already into the Route Editer and have the Tracks already layed then all one would need to do is decide wich Section to Use then Extract it. then one would only have to correct some of the elevation Data in areas they are fimular with and Add scenery such as bridges roads and Buildings. I thought that the Red marks on the Map in the tile extractor was where the real rails ran anyway why then are they not laid automaticaly if that is the case
I think that is why there is a later relise date. Frankly I would have to say anything that TA has done from the Steam Era looks way better then anything out there including what Microsoft and Kuju has done. it also lends me to believe that what MS and Kuju had done was not going to look near as good as what TA has and will have out in the near future and that is why I think they had TA do some work for them already. I would not be supprised if we see some of TA's work that they planned to reliese under there own name end up in the next version of traimsim as well. if I were A betting man I would almost have to say that some of the pictures at Trainartisan are of locomotives and Consists that will show up in the sim. Microsoft has about doubled the number of planes that will show up in Flightsim and why not capitalise on one of the Greatest Designers for Trainsim. It would also explain why they said they had to add several teams to there Design group as to keep up with the Requests on them. I dont know if that means that they are making what Club TA members are asking of them or they are just walking around a Microsoft Imposed Silence on them. I have talked with TA members in the Last few weeks thought and they didnt seem like they were two occupied but they are still watching what is going on here at the forums and what is being up loaded as they sent me a message pertaining about my Repaints. No Im not in trouble with them and you can still get my Locomotive Repaints so no worry. they were just making comments about them. what I have said isnt confirmed nor have I heard it from anyone. I was just mearly guessing as to why all the silence from TA. in the last month and half they only posted about 2 or 3 paragraphs and that isnt the TA I remember from 8 months ago. But Looking at the Steam Locomotive in the screen shots it just looks like TA signature work to meDon Pottorff Long Live the Steam www.vmf323.com
I can't find the quote right now, but M$/KUJU has stated that all models were produced in house. No outsourcing.Of course, they didn't say anything about route design, etc... -Jeff
