Has anyone noticed that on a real locomotive that air is relased from the air dryer all the time but on MTS1 the loco. dose not do this or why dont they have EOT on the end but when in real life the EOT lets out air when u aply the brake but...on the sim. it dose not do that..PEACE OUT
For clarification: Air Dryers (the twin tower style) only release air when the air compressor is pumping (if they're working properly). The "spitter" style release only when moisture is trapped in the manifold. Older moisture release valves work when the air compressor is not pumping at timed intervals. As far as EOT's are concerned, the only air an EOT will let out (if its not leaking) is when an emergency application is triggered from the telemetry device in the cab of the leading locomotive (unless it is also armed to another telemetry and someone is horsing around). Newer SD70MACs and 70AC's will initiate an emergency application at the EOT if the automatic handle is placed in emergency and the EOT is armed. Chris
I know this but i worded it worng...srry..but still even when one is sitting the locomotive lets out air ..but like what u said about the air dryer and the EOT they still let out air and i have never heard the SIM. do that exept for when u relase the brake or when you aply them..... PEACE OUT 13 year old railroad fanatic
Are you sure you don't mean the sounds the equalizing valves make? When I apply the brakes, I'll hear air from the brake pipe, and air from the equalizing reservoir. When I bail off the engine brake, I hear the air releasing from the locomotive brake cylinders. When I release the brakes, I again hear air movement in the equalizing reservoir (pumping up.) These are probably the only sounds represented in MSTS. I'm sure it is possible to modify your .eng files and sound files to "simulate" the air dryer.
