Will You Keep MSTS1 on Your HD After MSTS2 Is Installed

How many of you plan to keep MSTS1 on your drives after the new MSTS is installed. I dont think that I will, or is it even possible to have both on there at the same time?

I have no plans of keeping MSTS 1 as it's not installed as it is now, but I am quite exited about MSTS 2 and
wondering if MS(well Kuju) will get it right this time. It took them 15 years or so to get
the FS series right with FS2002. Who knows, maybe they can get right the MSTS series after 2 years.

I will keep MSTS1 on my HD until it crashes again (it crashes multiple times per week, but every few months, it doesn't load the program and requires a reinstall). After that, I will use the hard drive space previously reserved for MSTS1 with MSTS2.

I think I figured it out. There were corrupted files in some of the folders, and I didn't know what to do. This time, I deleted some files and folders and it worked. The first time, however, I had accidently partially deleted my trainset folder. That wasn't good. I have also had the problem where the computer freezes when I start an activity (the activity briefing doesn't even pop up).

I'll be keeping it around my HD until all of the routes and trains that I like have been converted to MSTS 2.

I'm going to wait and see if there any problems with the new M$TS 2. I might get a second HD and keep both of M$TS on seperated HD. I hope maybe PI engineer will make the raildriver to work with M$TS 2. It's too early to tell at this point what the future will hold for M$TS 2. I do hope the AE is user's friendly this time around.

I'll have to wait until MSTS 2 comes out to see if there's a reason for keeping MSTS 1 installed. If KUJU manages to somehow release a buggier product than the first one, then I'll keep MSTS 1. I'm hoping however that once MSTS 2 is released, I'll see no reason to keep the first.-Jeff

I will keep MSTS-1 though I will have to get a bigger hard-drive to support my editing activites regardless. The only reason that I wouldn't keep it would be if you could not have both installed at the same time.
After the routes I am interested in are exported to MSTS-2, or if they can be, then I will probably dump it to save disk space.J. H. Sullivan

I definitley plan to keep MSTS 1 unless MSTS 2 has a backwards compatibility where MSTS(1)'s Routes,Locos, etc work with MSTS 2.Chris

With Me it depends on if I have a new computer by then. If I cant buy a new Computer wich is already chocking on MSTS1 I may not get MSTS 2 untill I can get a new computer.... It will have to 200 gig hard drives as I think they will have them in that size by then.
However when I have my next computer built I am going to do some Research first before I buy it. I am going to make sure I get the Highest possible Frame rates I can but not only do i want it to have high frame rates I hope it is steady.
I hope MSTS 2 will have a setting where you can set the limit on the highest frame rate one can get so it will be more stable..Don Pottorff

Jeff, I think he's referring to setting the limit on fps like you can in FS2, which helps the stability issue quite a bit. This obviously can not be done yet in MSTSRobertR .. ADF-M&RM at http://www.adfrr.com

Well, unless they were lying, the only thing they said that would not be compatible are the activities. Everything else would be. So all you people worried about your routes not "converting", relax. Since I'm running a multiple XP system, I'll definately keep MSTS 1 in at least one of the two. Besides, for the add-on routes I have now it will take a while before they are upgraded to MSTS 2 and since the activities are not compatible, MSTS 1 will stay a whileHermanBuilding Greater Toronto Area incl. TTC-metrolines. Tracks 20% ready.
