A re-read of that famous initial press-release from M$ has got me thinking about something nobody seems to have mentioned before. The press-release mentions, and I quote:'Alternatively, users can sit back and enjoy many of the routes in the role of a virtual passenger as the train rolls down the tracks'.Could this mean more than just a cheap passenger view? Could this mean that there will be a small aspect to the sim like 'Train Riding Simulator' - where you are actually a person enjoying an 'introductory train ride' sort of thing? Walking around the platform, waiting, boarding, sitting, alighting, sort of thing? While of course this isn't driving, I reckon it would be heaps of fun to actually be the annoyed passenger being bounced around on a very late train, as opposed to always being the person driving the bouncing, late train!Of course, this is probably just a M$ way of saying 'you can be in an introductory train ride' - but perhaps, maybe once, this is literally true. Could 'Train Riding Simulator' be a part of MSTS 2?Thoughts, comments?

RE: Another Overlooked Possible Feature

Hi Kozioleanfrom the hints given in another post - one of the posts in which somebody reported from E3 - I assumed it to be either the ITR as we already now it, or some kind of "autopilot mode" or better "AI button" allowing any player train in an activity to be driven by the notorious AI engineer.See http://www.train-sim.com/dcforum/DCForumID18/91.html, and make sure to read the 3rd paragraph:> (...) In fact, the sheer beauty of the train route over the Swiss Alps caused the developers to add in a passenger mode. Players can move around the accurately modeled and fully 3D railroad cars and just enjoy the Swiss countryside passing by. (...)
<Move through the cars? Definitely not just the existing rotating head "5-view" !I repeat, these are just some private assumptions.Lukas a.k.a Swissie

Ah, I should read more closely. Not as good as being outside, boarding, alighting business, but still an improvement on the ITR/5 VIEW mode.

A very similar (if not identical) clause was used prior to the release of MTS v1 two years ago.I wouldn't get overly excited by it.Bruce.
