I am wondering what you would like to see on future MSTS-II add-ons. I know I'd want special versions of the MSTS-I routes and trains, with sharper graphics and updated for MSTS-II.Other things I wanna see is STEAM...this includes new Pennsy loco's for the existing MSTS-II Pennsy route...T-1, S-2, Q-2, K-4, etc. Other loco's include the UP 844/8444, 3985 and Big Boy; the SP 2472, 4449 (also in AFT and BNSF paint), and Cab-Forward. N&W 611; Nevada Northern 40; and anything else I can think of.And by the way, if the Pennsy route is electrified, will there be a GG1 loco?

RE: What do you wanna see?

Ok, OK, OK! Anyways, what would you like to see as add-ons? Again, I'd want updated versions of default MSTS-I routes and trains, and the others I mentioned earlier.

RE: What do you wanna see?

TrainFreak is correct, Horseshoe Curve has never, and likely will never be elctricfied. I am pretty sure there is a GG1 available in the File Library for download. If it is not there check NALW's website, I may have gotten it from there. The GG1 can be prototypical run on the Northeast Corridor. GG1's were running on the Northeast Corridor until the 1980's. The locomotives were retired because the voltage was being upt on the wires, and the GG1s 40 year old traction motors would not have been able to handle it. If the voltage had remianed the same, GG1s could've run even longer.

Actually, the Voltage has not been upped yet. The main reason that the GG1's were retired and not still running today is because the frame was one huge casting, and after so many years of service, they began to develop large cracks in the frames. These proved to be just about impossible to fix, and so the GG1's were retired. The PRR did have the line from Philly to harrisburg electrified, and as far as I know it still is. A very nice section of track there!

I'd like to see some more screen shots of what the sim has to offer that I don't have to pay for before I say what I'd like to see or added to the new MSTS.

RE: What do you wanna see?

Jake,You are almost right about the electrification. The PRR Elelctrified into Washington D.C., and from there to Philadelphia and Harrisburg, where the PRR maintained a locomotive swap precedure: Trains operating onward to new york kept their elecrics, while trains bound onto the Middle division had their Electrics swapped under the harrisburg Trainshed with either a diesel or steam locomotive. After this, the train would proceed towards Pittsburgh and points West. The Broadway and most of the PRR's "Blue Ribbon" Fleet ran into Harrisburg and swapped leads late at night. The GG1's were etied for a few reasons. First, after some 40+ years of faithful service, the GG1's Westinghouse-built electrical systems were wearing out, and Amtrak was given the choice to upgrade them or retire them. Amtrak sadly chose to retire them. I have also heard stories that their colling systems used a coolant that was made illegal due to environmentalists around the 80's, so this also forced them out of existance. he last thing that Killed them off was their cast steel frames simply wore out from their million plus mileage. I hope this info helps you...
