I was wondering if anyone knew that the Signals that govern trains at diamonds at grade will work? I mean if a train that crosses your track at a diamond will the signal be able to detect the other train on the other main crossing your track and will it display red so that you have to stop at this diamond crossing?

You had the sane idea as I did . I have Cajon pass and I set up two trains , one on BNSF and The other up and wanted to see if one train would stop at interlocking at Colton. To my surprise , none of them would stop , both when thought the interlock at the same time . In real life this would be real bad train wrecked. The signal system in MSTS1 really sucks , because it a player control train would get a red signal and with nothing come in both directions . Some times I just can reset the path and the player control train will get red signal . I just can reset the switch to get the green signal . PkMan MP 777.00 God is Love

But in MSTS-1 it wasn't a bad trainwreck, just a rather humerous situation. I found that if cars were traveling on an unprotected road like a farm road, and a train was going by, they would just melt into one side, and ooze out the other - weird, but kinda cute.J. H. Sullivan

Jerry,
What you do if you want an unprotected grade crossing is install a grade crossing object and then in the crossing properties box check the "Invisible" box.
Vehicles will now stop but no crossing gates/lights will show in the Sim. Install a static crossbuck object and it is quite prototypical and looks good.

Hear, hear.It seems the manufacturer/s devised those diamond crossings to be incorporated solely for dual-track crossovers.

Hmmm, If you have ever use the diamonds in x-tracks and put signals up guarding them, it does work. I think as long as you started one signal block away and were the first one to enter the signal block you would get the signal to go over the diamond and the other train would have to wait. I used the xtracks 90 degree xover for 2 different railroads, and if I was at least 1 block away, the other train got the signal to go through the crossover. Worked good for me.

RE: Railroad Signals at Diamonds on MSTS2?

All the diamond crossings I have used work fine in so far as the signalling system goes, both the Xtracks and the default ones.
Its important to check that the diamond crossing installs properly though.
In the AE there should be a dot where the tracks cross.
If there isnt then delete the diamond and re install it.
I have found that sometimes they dont install properly.MD
