Official BVE Guidelines Proposed – image 1

LAST EDITED ON Nov-03-03 AT 09:52 AM (EST)

I've got word that the official BVE guidelines have been proposed and put up at the official BVE website for debate. It is similiar to the existing Western BVE Development Guidelines and therefore should not affect us too much. http://chiba.cool.ne.jp/mackoy/support/guidelines/guidelines.shtmlAdditional notes from some Japanese BVE developers (may not be 100% correct)1. It does not limit the developers from choosing their works to be open-source. One of its aims is to respect the wishes of the add-on developer. The other is to respect the copyright law.2. It will probably apply only to the Japanese BVE Community, firstly because it is in Japanese. Secondly, there is already the Western Developer Guidelines in place. 3. Again, it is a set of guidelines which you may agree or not agree. It is only a draft proposal and therefore it is up for debate.

I think this will benefit the international BVE community as a whole, and have an indirect effect on western BVE development. They seem similar to 'our' developer guidelines... tight enough to be effective but loose enough not to strange development.Tim Frost
