RE: LU Northern Line North and South v3.0 Screenshots

I'm really looking forward to this one, looks amazing. But I have one question, will it be drivible on "older" computers. To be more specific, wil it run on an AMD 800 with Gforce2 64 mb. If not, bad luck for me, I'm just curious.Good luck with finishing this great project,Jaap Stegers

-----You are reading my signature now, don't waste your time reading it!-----
Or probably, maybe you should waste your time reading it.
Eh, where did my signature go?
Oh, here it is, the one you are reading right now? Can't you see it? I know I know, it's probably too bright to see it.
Hey, look at my avatar, nice right? I drew it with my own hands holding the mouse in Paint, with the pencil tool(and the Filling tool!)!
It's a picture of me in Planet Stooopid, where everything is the same as what you call "Earth" except that we are called "aliens" in your planet.
Anyway, I warned you not waste time reading my signature! You have just wasted probably about 30 seconds reading it, where you could have spent the time doing better things, like maybe reading the next post below if there is one...

RE: LU Northern Line North and South v3.0 Screenshots

Hi allI started this update before I moved house over a year ago, with permission. It has been continued by Steve and Stephen Cross. The version that I ran on my very badly set up computer worked fairly well. This was the Southbound route. The old Northbopund route never worked very well on my parent's computer. If the new version will run on that machine, it will run on any! (within reason!)I am glad to see this is seein gthe light of day, and that the Northbound route is being added.Paul

RE: LU Northern Line North and South v3.0 Screenshots

For many reasons, nostalgia being but one, this route remains my favourite LU route. It is the route that I first noticed when I found BVE on the web and the Northern Line is the one I used to ride as a kid in London. I am so excited about the new version - can't wait! Thanks to everyone involved for all the hard work on this project.

Thanks for the comments guys Jaap, I don't think on your system performance should prove to be a problem.
My system is an AMD 1000Mhz, 512Mb Ram and a 64mb GF4, and I'm getting 17-25fps with 500m draw distance in BVE v2.53. That runs about 20-40 on BVE 2.9.
The 17fps is in the most built up areas of Finchley Central and Golders Green. The underground sections do make use of Cylinders for the tunnels and stations, which means it is a little bit slower than the old version, but well worth it for the visual effect of nice round walls. We did find however, that the cylinderical stations did not show correctly with a S3 Savage gfx card, but there is a workaround for that Cheers
