I am now making an open call to all train builders to build a train for my IRT-1904 BVE Route. Specifications for the cars can be found at the following Web addresses:http://www.nycsubway.org/irt/irtbook/ch6.html and http://www.nycsubway.org/irt/irtbook/ch8.html The controls are the "IRT Standard," (i.e. 3 power positions, 8 brake positions, with emergency brakes)Full-screen work is optional, but recommended. It must provide the look and feel of driving a train in the early 20th century. There should be versions for a 3-car train, a 5-car train, and an 8-car train. As soon as I can get an ETR for the route, I'll let you know.-Robert Marrero
I recommend Wulf. The M-1 series trains say it all. Fine work, and all from (scratch). He's a great train builder.Tim Frost NVTA Subway routes for BVE: The Union Atlantic Railroad: Your stuff's important!
Wow thanks Tim, praise indeed To be honest though, I am not sure how much time I will have for Bve developing at the moment, although I am always reachable via here or email to help and discuss things related to train building. I have not 'suspended work' as such, but I have no idea when I will be back in the Bve workshop for the time being. You can blame yourself for that, you got me hooked on Trainz (I now have UTC and TRS2004) Robert, if you have any 'works-in-progress' you have my permission to use my sounds, images, train.dat tricks, etc. in them provided I get to see the finished product before release and you put a mention somewhere in the docs CiaoSaxon Locomotive Works - "The difficult we do immediately; the impossible takes a little longer"http://www.zodiac-infosystems.co.uk/rail/bve
I'm wondering what's best thing to do when BVE3.0 comes out. It'd be nice if all the features of BVE 3.0 can be used and it would all come out at the same time. Instead of having a train file come out already obsolete.Of course you can always upgrade versions, but I think you get my drift.
I agree, a unified approach is great, but what is not so great is keeping stuff away from users on the basis that 'the software might have this, or that, or the other' while meantime there is plenty to be learned in the present. Updating Bve stuff is no problem once the archives are created, no-one will object to downloading something if it's better than what went before. Once the full panel specs for Bve 3 are known then I'm sure a lot of trains will get cab and sound updates, meanwhile go drive and enjoy CiaoSaxon Locomotive Works - "The difficult we do immediately; the impossible takes a little longer"http://www.zodiac-infosystems.co.uk/rail/bve
