70 years ago...Seventy years to this day, Piccadilly Line trains were extended from South Harrow to Uxbridge. This formed the final part of the 'grand design' for the Picc line, allowing a 31.5 mile journey from Cockfosters to Uxbridge.(Long standing forum members will have guessed the next line!!)From today onwards, this can be done in BVE. Yes, I am pleased to announce that Version Three of the BVE Piccadilly Line route is now availible for download. The downloads are seperate and comprise object (three parts), sound, routefile and train files. Whilst the Heathrow v3 file is currently not availible, it should be soon, as with night, snow and 1990's runs. Please be aware 1) loading times can be high and FPS low, especially on old computers 2) the route is a large download, it is in several bits and is as low as possible without a visible detrimental effect to route quality 3) the route does not work with BVE 2.9 as far as I am aware and 4) the readme file is there to be read. Can I take this opportunity to publically thank all the developing community, especially those who'se work is included in the route.I have included some minor "easter eggs" - try and find the hot air baloon, 747, a rather hopeless waiter and Tone's worst enemy .So, go and download it! Comments either by reply to this thread, PM or email. Unless it's "there's one too many trees between Park Royal and Alperton", in which case don't waste your time.http://brj.rr.nuEnjoy it!!!!!--

Or probably, maybe you should waste your time reading it.
Eh, where did my signature go?
Oh, here it is, the one you are reading right now? Can't you see it? I know I know, it's probably too bright to see it.
Hey, look at my avatar, nice right? I drew it with my own hands holding the mouse in Paint, with the pencil tool(and the Filling tool!)!
It's a picture of me in Planet Stooopid, where everything is the same as what you call "Earth" except that we are called "aliens" in your planet.
Anyway, I warned you not waste time reading my signature! You have just wasted probably about 30 seconds reading it, where you could have spent the time doing better things, like maybe reading the next post below if there is one...

Hi, just got a chance to try it out. Loading Time: 7mins 34 secs
1Ghz with a fairly new Graphics Card.Here's a few smart-alic comments Pros
Wonderfuly placed scenery,
Traffic sounds when at bridges nr stns,
Informative Gifs,
Good use of trains (1992 On Bridge e.t.c.)
Recognisable places.Cons
Terminating at Rayners Lane announcement.
Long rendering time (well, for some PC's)
A few missing files on startup,
Sometimes the route can stop for about 10 secs,
Shows the bad driving of black cabs (wrong side of road )(Some comments are a bit weird as it is hard to find some cons. All in all, though, a very BIG pat on the back.

RE: 70 years ago...

It was after running Picc v2 back in April that I became a bve convert, so naturally I was looking forward to running this route. Now I'm disappointed because it freezes up my system - that's an Athlon 1800XP, 1GB RAM and a ASUS Geforce FX video card.Any suggestions for what I could do?
Chris

RE: 70 years ago...

This may be obvious but have you tried turning off any unneeded background applications such as anti-virus before running the route?I have a Pentium 4 1.8Ghz 512k ram, Geoforce 2 400MX 64Mb graphics card and it runs on mine - it takes a long time to load and you will think it is "hung" but it eventually does load. I set the grahics drawing distance to 300 to help the fps. It will pause a lot during the route but I can live with that until I can upgrade the graphics card and another 512k of ram.

Hello everyone! Finally make up my mind to register. Well anyways love this picc route v much and I really appreciate the work of the creator. It's a really great job, but my computer always get into a lot of trouble before I can enjoy the ride, which worths more than anything. Considering how time-consuming it is there is nothing I can think of to complain or whine.
Here's some of my thoughts: I think it's a good idea to split the route to some smaller parts since it's not good to have computer freeze. And as there's still the Cockfosters-Heathrow-Cockfosters in my file which I don't know if it's anything related to v3 of the release, I would like to know if it's normal to have some strange walls when approaching Hammersmith from Baron's Court.
Seems I've gone too far away from the original topic. If I'm wrong please correct me. thanx
