A public apology – image 1

LAST EDITED ON Oct-10-03 AT 10:28 PM (EDT) by Wulf_9 (moderator)

I have made a very stupid mistake, and I wish to publicly apologize for it. This was not requested nor required of me, but I feel it is something that should be corrected in more than just a silent addition to my readmes.I have built and released two complete NVTA routes, in that time using many objects built and/or textured by Robert Marrero.I did not include Robert in the readme files, nor ask his permission. I have no logical excuse for this error. I may have thought at the time that these objects were public domain or otherwise contributed to be used freely, but why this mistake was made is not important; it is the fact that I made it.I apologize for this error, Robert, and appreciate that you contacted me calmly and privately, and will continue to permit the use of your objects in my routes. As of this morning, the install file on http://nvta.co.uk has been updated to include Robert, and the route files have been updated to give credit on the line the object is called in, as with all other NVTA routes. If I have left anyone else out, please do contact me so I can rectify these discrepancies immediately. Anyone who has the NVTA routes, please download the file I have attached, which contains the updated readmes (but not the new routefiles, to get those, you'll have to re-download the NVTA object pack, which has a few needed updates anyways, like the inclusion of the M1 series trains). The attached file is 5.92kb.Once again, I am truly sorry.Wulf, Chris T, you may lock this topic or leave it open, it doesn't really need to be replied to but if anyone has something to say, they may do so.Tim Frost

Nice one Tim,the mark of a real man is that he's never afraid to say sorry... I don't think anyone will even begin to hold this one against you W.Saxon Locomotive Works - "The difficult we do immediately; the impossible takes a little longer"http://www.zodiac-infosystems.co.uk/rail/bve

I figure I made a public mistake, a public apology does it right the most you can for something that is already done. Violating the copyright on intellectual property to me is like violating someone's trust.Tim Frost

Indeed, and this is such a great example of the real spirit of Bve Development that I'm thinking of making it a sticky LMK if that's too much CiaoSaxon Locomotive Works - "The difficult we do immediately; the impossible takes a little longer"http://www.zodiac-infosystems.co.uk/rail/bve
