I asked the same question in another thread - and for me the answer is no. The joystick worked fine in BVE 2.5. I have a MS sidewinder and set up a profile for BVE 2.5. Interestingly, some of the buttons I assigned to keys work in 2.9, but the xy axis which was used for acceleration and braking do not work.
sorry guys, just got onto this thread.I have emailed Mr Mackoy about RailDriver and a few other points to do with interfacing, hopefully I will get a reply but I do understand he's a busy man.Anyway Long and the short of it is that if we cant plug in directly then we can do something , rest assured, If we can get set up with MSTS which does not have Any form of external control then I am sure we can run BVE.Might be a while though but keep an eye on the website www.raildriver.com or join our mailing list list@raildriver.com for details
>Has anyone been able to get the Beta 2.9 to work with a joy >stick? Hi ,The answer is yes. I have been using a Logitech Wingman 3D Joystick with BVE for two years and am also using it with the new Beta version. It will not work using the joystick setting within BVE2.9 but you can use a keyboard setting and if your joystick is programmeable like mine then programme the axis to the keystrokes ie A=Brake, Z=Brake.I also have the various stick switches programmed for cancel ATS, Horn etc etc.On the Raildriver front I am reliably informed that they are at present working on a compatable version for BVE.CheersBryan
Bryan88, Thanks for the tip. I'll have to try that with my Microsoft Sidewinder. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for the Rail Driver support. BVE combined with Rail Driver would make for a near perfect train simulator.
Unfortunatly the Sidewinder I have only allows programming the buttons and the POV/hat - no axis. I could use the hat button for brake, etc but that is not the optimum solution.
