LAST EDITED ON Oct-05-03 AT 03:42 PM (EDT)

OK, Monorail fans. I have uploaded a zip file with several monorail tracks. If you are unable to download, send me a PM or email and I can send them to you.
They were created with a modifyed version of Luigi Cartello Curve10 spread sheet, and Luigi's help. The spread sheet is included. You can make straddle beam and suspended beam tracks. Power rails can be included or not. The includes set is 1 m x 1 m and includes a 13 meter, 1 meter square support beam for the straddle beam. You need to create your own supports for suspend beams. You can create smooth curves down to about 50 meters radius. The width and height of the beam is adjustable. If you made the beam wide enough, it would even look ( a little) like a Maglev beam. These were done to help fix comments on the Inner Harbor runs, which include some monorails. A quick view of the 50 meter beam is shown here.
Now if some enterprising Monorail fan wants to create a route, the tracks are available.

RE: Mono Rails

Hi that looks really good. I had plans in the future to recreate Jacksonvilles Monorail(because I have pictures, i'm relatively close enough to visit, and it's a short route that should be simple). Once I finish my other stuff anyway(wow this stuff's time consuming). Although I might start playing around with trackwork and such when I want to procrastinate on the other route. Enough rambling....I wanted to say that I don't see the .zip file.

RE: Mono Rails

Speaking of monorails...Smace, How's that route coming? From the screen shots I saw, it looked real good!

This is the Orange Line train bound for Pattison, the next stop is Walnut-Locust, stand clear of the closing doors.

RE: Mono Rails

This rail package is actually part of the "fixes" suggested by beta testers. Power rails and smooth curves were of the two the comments. I fixed several of none parallel track problems. I have added an Air Ship base an Air Ship over the city. The main issue now is the Four Points station area. I need to make a station that hides the track crossing section. It is not a smooth area and would best if one could not see the other tracks. Part of this is BVE, part of it is Route Builder. I had hoped to be out by summers end, but I missed that. New target is Christmas. Several parallel projects (Making tools to do this route mostly) are taking longer than expected, but then again, its not like I am getting paid for this. It is suppose to be fun

RE: Mono Rails

Yeah, Delaware County, actually. Yeah, I've tried, but since school started, I've put all of my time into my studies.

RE: Mono Rails

Good deal. I wanted to try at shot at the MFL or one of the regional rail lines someday(read someday). Orange line couldn't be too hard, it's all center platforms I think(never been on that). Still probably time consuming either way....

Not a troll, but an old personal friend of mine. He left the area where we both lived about 4 months ago and has been computer less since then. This is a new email address for him, so I did not recoginize it. We have worked on some BVE things together before. If fact the original monorail tracks that I used are a joint project.

-----You are reading my signature now, don't waste your time reading it!-----
Or probably, maybe you should waste your time reading it.
Eh, where did my signature go?
Oh, here it is, the one you are reading right now? Can't you see it? I know I know, it's probably too bright to see it.
Hey, look at my avatar, nice right? I drew it with my own hands holding the mouse in Paint, with the pencil tool!
It's a picture of me in Planet Stooopid, where everything is the same as what you call "Earth" except that we are called "aliens" in your planet.
Anyway, I warned you not waste time reading my signature! You have just wasted probably about 30 seconds reading it, where you could have spent the time doing better things, like maybe reading the next post below if there is one...
