Okay, I got the new BVE working with only a few teething
problems. There's a bug in the string.ini, I keep getting
??????.??? when trying to load routes unless they are .csv
route, then I get ?????.CSV . Frame rates went up from 4.0
to 5.0, so I guess that's an improvement. (SiS 6326 AGP
SVGA card with 8 megs video ram.) The full screen 800x600
is the best part. I haven't got the views to work yet, when
the program first started it said it couldn't find the default
key assignments. Probably related. Overall I'd rate this upgrade a 9 out of 10! System Specs:
Intel P2 Celeron at 300mhz, with 64 megs of ram, running Win98.
SiS 6326 AGP SVGA card with 8 megs ram.
DirectX 8.1
.NET Framework version 1.1

RE: BVE works okay.

alter the current string.ini to string.ini.bak after that alter the string_EN.ini file to string.ini and restart your BVENET

RE: BVE works okay.

Everytime I did this to get the strings in English BVE.Net decided to reinstall itself and put everything back into Japanese. Did this almost a dozen times. Only way I fixed this was to go line by line changing the text to english.
Problem in Win98 maybe, I don't beleive it's my system only.just a heads up to the win98'ers.Celeron366mhz with 192mb's of RAM, Win98 second edition

RE: BVE works okay.

I was also getting this. If you use the desktop icon about every second time it reinstalls itself and the Japanese string. This doesnt seem to happen if you got to the program folder and use the icon there.

framework. It might be just a bug in the beta version of Bvedotnet.
I did get the views working after I saved a custom key config, but
it's clear that a lot of panels will need updating.

RE: BVE works okay.

Try deleting the Japanese string.ini instead of renaming. Now, BVE can't put the Japanese one back in!

--You are reading my signature now, don't waste your time reading it!--
Eh, where did my signature go?
Oh, here it is, the one you are reading right now? Can't you see it?
Told you not waste time reading my signature! You have just wasted 5 seconds!

RE: BVE works okay.

Done this too, then it just does the install dialog box looking for the original installation files so it can "repair" my config.Only way it worked for me was to go line by line. Guess it's different per-person(which doesn't make sense on a computer!)

no , you need to USE the BVENET.exe file in your directorie since the one on the desktop wants always to repair, reinstall BVE
so go to the folder where you installed BVE and use the exe file FROM there
