NVTA Airport RT Route Plan – image 1

This is the proposed plan for the NVTA Aiport Rapid Transit Line. Instead of being Light Rail it will use the E90 stock.A Brief HistoryThe Nearbug Airport Line was proposed in 1999 for passengers from the Farburg Airport to have a direct connection to the Nearbug Airport. The line starts from the red line Nearbug Airport Station and goes though an at-grade express section at full speed of 90km/h to the Nearbug Port. After that the line will go down into tunnels and reach a station in the heart of the Farburg Shopping Centre. The line then turns a Southwest in the tunnel and goes up onto an elevated section where it enters and stops in the Farburg Exposition Centre followed shortly by the University of South Yomodorin, after which it goes straight to the Farburg Airport, stopping in the International terminal before ending in the Domestic terminal.Airport Line InformationThe airport line trains are designated E90 express trains with a maximum speed of 95km/h. They are manually operated and fed by 600vDC overhead wires. Inside the trains, there are LED flip dot sign for passengers to see what is their next station and the train’s destination. There are LCD mini screens screening shows in the train for passengers to enjoy. The trains are always in a 12 car formation. The signal blocks are 400m long so as to provide very high train frequency during peak hours without compromising speed or safety. The ATCS* system is also in use to prevent signal, speed restriction, and station over-runs.*ATS-P for NVTA is known as ATCS, or Automatic Train Control System. Although the trains are fully manually controlled, ATCS over-rides in time to stop for red signals and stations, and slow in time for speed restrictions.Tim Frost

I should add that this line may not be assigned a colour as it is paid for in part by the airport comissions. It might be assigned a colour later but probably not. This will also be the first and only line to feature Platform Edge Doors.Tim Frost

Yes, I forgot to mention that it was KH here that came up with the specifics. I already knew there was going to be an interairport RT line but he came up with the stations, alignment, etc.Nicely done, and welcome to the forum! Tim Frost

A few more details:This line will be called IART, Inter Airport Rapid Transit.Stations:
Nearbug Airport (same station as Red Line/NBX and intra-airport LRT)
Port of Nearbug
Cruise Terminal
Shoppingtown (subject to changes, better name needed)
Exposition
Education Complex (also needs a good name)
FIA - Int'l Terminal (FIA=Farburg Int'l airport)
FIA - Domestic TerminalThere will be a completely underground light rail line for traveling within the airport. It is a single-track loop with PEDs using the T180A stock in high-floor mode. Trains run in one direction. Round trip from the Red Line station (different level of course) back to RL/NBX/IART would be about 10-12 minutes. The Red Line/Nearbug Express (NBX) station will now be two levels. Level b1 is Red Line/NBX/Airport RT (three tracks, two island platforms) and level b2 is intra-airport light rail, one track, two side platforms both facing the same track... one platform is for boarding the other for offboarding. The airport LRT will use T180A stock in high-floor mode.Any suggestions/comments/complaints can be made here or mailed to tmcorbett@<NOSPAM>comcast.net (remove the nospam tag)Tim Frost

Unfortunately the Nearbug Fashion Plaza is miles away! Also, the University is actually the University of South Yomodorin, Farburg so if anything it would be USYF... hmm, not bad...*thinks*It'll work itself out! I guess. Thanks! Also if you'd still be interested in doing some annoucements email tmcorbett@<nospam>comcast.com and I'll mail back the script. Tim Frost
