I've connected at Martin Finken's and Peter Shot's http://www.bve-train.de/The site, recently revamped after Martin's retirement from BVE developement, shows now this text in the homepage:Die Downloads stehen nicht mehr zur Verfügung.Wir möchten darauf hinweisen, das das Anbieten von unseren erstellten Strecken, Ojekten und Zügen auf anderen Seiten, sowie auf CD nicht gestattet ist.Altavista does this translation:The Downloads is not available any longer. We would like to refer to it, that offering our provided distances, Ojekten and courses other sides, as well as on CD is not permitted. No one file is more linked for download.I fully respect any Martin's decision, but I think that the English speaking BVE community deserves some clearer words of explication... and that this forum could be the best place for them. Thanks, Luigi Cartello http://web.tiscali.it/lcartello/Sorry for the double post, I did tot see Nathan's one posted before.
After a discussion in the german forum about the defination : what freeware is, we have deleted all the files on our site. Somebody are thinking, that they could do with this files, what they like. So after my frustration, also Peter is frustrated. We have developed for our fun and not for some crazy peoples. In the future we are coding for our own.greatings Martin Finken http://BVE-Train.de

Freeware doesn't mean you give up any rights (both creative or distributionwise) when you release a file. It means that you are offering the work for free, and retaining all rights to it. Public Domain software is the type of software where you give up all the rights to the software after it's released. They are different things altogether. Talk to any good copyright attorney, surely you have them in Germany, correct? I don't blame you guys for being frustrated, but don't through the baby out with the bath water!
