RE: Work on South East Route Continues....

Quick reply! Um, don't want to sound stupid but how can I make the code (it was generated in switch) to make the points set the right way?Oh and a shout out to anyone who has or wants to build a Eurostar train for me I would be very glad, please PM me if you can. Well I am off to have a Lunch break and then back to the coding.====================

RE: Work on South East Route Continues....

Lookin' good! Especially those points, a huge improvement to the former track that almost derailed the train
Anyone considering making the Eurostar be warned it's the most complex train in the world (not to put you off...)
The following may be of help:
Cab diagram - http://www.lococarriage.org.uk/eurotunn.htm (bottom of page)
Techinal Details - http://www.therailwaycentre.com/Recognition%20Tech%20Data%20EMU/EMU_373.html
Cab pictures - http://mercurio.iet.unipi.it/pix/gb/electric/Eurostar/3200/pix.html (several on page)
Page about the MSTS version including examples of technical config files - http://webdottrainsim.tripod.com/msts531.htm
Good luck to anyone taking up the offer, it would be so nice to actually have a train to match the logo image!

When it asks you for the path and you can select l or r, select the path you want the switch to take...if you're not sure how this works, make two switches, EXACTLY THE SAME except for this part, the path, and note the differences.

>errm, the red signal appears to be off it's poll. It's supposed to be like that, look at the signal objects in the Southern route, you just can't see the "holder" that extends to the signal. And James, I don't think putting a train object there is good. While waiting to depart that station, it looks like that train is not moving at all, e.g. stationary. But when put at other parts, the stationary train is not so obvious as a staionart train, but moving.

Also I thing you have used the wrong track type, set that to a straight rail and see where it goes. Then adjust the x-offset if necessary then find a suitable (or make one) curve to use there.

RE: Work on South East Route Continues....

As I said on the Transport Forum I am definatly going to be extending the route to Orpington over the summer. As well as eventually, and I am not promising, London Charing Cross. I would love to be able to drive my local route. Tonbridge my hometown into the capital.Would anyone like information and or a map of this route, as I have a feeling some may want it? Especially those who live abroad. ====================

A map would be nice even for those of us who have a rough idea of where S'oaks and Orpington are. Pherhaps one of your fireworks jobs?

Nice, how many attempts did it take to get perfect photos for the skins? You can look at the Quails and compare them with the trackwork if you want : you won't find any errors!--

LAST EDITED ON Jul-04-03 AT 06:53 PM (EDT)

well, normally i wouldn't reply but i wanted to show off the object, as i have interrupted the ECML schedule in order to get this finished so that james can get it reskinned and put in his route. i admit the original picture did look a bit flat but even then, it was more than a box shape! and yes, i think the comment was better saved for a PM. i've been working on the loco for 3 days now. it is about half done and derived from textures salvaged from 3 photographs. it is currently up to 203 lines of coding and a filesize of 5KB for that one object alone. In fact i'm far from happy, as it still looks a little 2D. i've just got to build the rather complicated front skirt and then the cab blister. i don't make crap when it's going to be in my route, which is why you haven't seen any screenshots of my WIP yet. i merely wanted to show it's progress so far. behind it is a separate object i have started work on.
