I sent an object permission mail to one of the major route authours over two weeks ago and have not yet recieved a reply. Now the lack of permissions is delaying my route release. Should I just add his name in and go ahead with release, or should I wait? All advice appreciated!Chris Leeswww.bvecornwall.tk -BVE Cornwall: Providing QUALITY Steam for BVE!

Which author did you try to contact? It's possible your e-mail never reached it's destination, in which case they won't know you asked to use something. Believe me it happens! Some people may consider that not replying to an e-mail requesting permission should always be considered a "no", as the author hasn't actually said "yes". This is the safest option as you don't always know why permission may be required to use something.Opinions will vary and I speak only for myself, but as far as I'm concerned it's whether someone makes the effort to ask me that really matters, the only exceptions relating to files I myself have used with permission from someone else - they may expect me to not allow their files to be given away without consent.Btw I replied to an e-mail you sent me on the 15th, hope you received it okay?Cheers, Anthony. -- www.railsimroutes.co.uk www.bvetrains.co.uk www.railsimroutes.co.uk/bvehelp/
This also reminds me about the C-stock.As Steve Green, Paul Jobber and a few others know, I recently asked permision to host the C-Stock passenger view David ashling has excellently made. He has no webspace and doesn't have the file.I have asked all authors but for some reason, David White hasn't replyed since May/very early this month.Do you think I should re-ask?This is all that is stopping the C-stock Passenger View's release CheersDAMON, http://www.bvedepot.co.uk
>Do you think I should re-ask? If you want to use any of David's work, then yes, otherwise you can always seek out alternatives. Remember that not everyone can always respond that quickly though, real life gets in the way sometimes and there's nothing any of us can do about it, and it's not anyone's fault either.Cheers, Anthony. -- www.railsimroutes.co.uk www.bvetrains.co.uk www.railsimroutes.co.uk/bvehelp/
