The complex bus object is done. I need a couple of people to look at it. There is also a library of colored simple and complex buses. Please send either a PM to me with your email address or an email to me Email title.must contain the words BVE Bus. Tell me if you just want the single bus or the full set. I am interested on how they impact frame rates. If these work out, I will upload here later this week.
Tried to upload a picture, but the server is not allowing this right now. These objects have moderatly detailed interiors. For use in an Urban setting where you would be close to the object.

RE: Testers needed

These are based on a drawing of an Orion 7 bus. They are the same bus as the simple bus design, just with more detail. The are meant for driving on the right hand side of the road, but I am sure that the Mirror program would create a bus for UK. The picture shows a green one, and a blue one can just be seen behind it. I will send the copies out when I get home this evening.

That is why I want other people to look at it. Is that issue just because I use a poor video card, or is it something in the file.
That image is from track viewer and you would not normally see the object from that view, so even if it is an issue, it may be livable. I just need some other input.

RE: Testers needed

Thank all of the testers. I have uploaded the complex bus objects to the library here. I also added all the bus sets together for a small library of objects, several with colored interior and exterior. There is also a UK style simple white and complex white bus in the library. On of the beta testers wanted one. A small picture of the fleet is below.

Who came up with the invention of bus routes in BVE? It's a pretty good idea to me Can we not have car routes too? Like routes on various motorways?Anas Hassan -

It's going to be difficult to do that, but I know it's worth a try. I'm sure I won't get past the first hurdle but we'll see what I can do. I'll try making a motorway sign-board and see if that is going to be successful.PS. Congratulations to Joshim for being the first bus route maker. You know everyone that BVE can lead to so many directions Anas Hassan -

RE: Testers needed

>I don't understand. Is it a bus simulator mod for BVE? As mentioned I created these as objects for an urban rail route. I needed bus and truck and car objects. I had access to some one who had a good bmp of a bus and asked to use it. I was given permission, so the objects exist. The BMP came from a transit simulator proposal that was announced here ( amoung other places). The link is http://www.train-sim.com/dcforum/DCForumID17/347.html There have been several short demos posted about non rail uses of BVE. Also seehttp://www.train-sim.com/dcforum/DCForumID17/62.htmlNear the bottom. I did a quick and dirty bus and test route to see if it could be done. Yes indead it can, and as you have seen in prior posts Joshim is hard at making a real route. The thing needed, and Joshim says he is building one, is a drivable believable bus. Note the above thread started about a HiRail type of Maint. Van. Could also be done.

Sent a email direct to Smace, but reading all this I thought the rest of you might be intrested.I was thinking about the problem of steering and suggested to him about the new trolley buses in USA that use blue lines to follow, so there kind of sterring contoled, this means all we would have to do to create these routes is create road pieces that works as rails with the lines on them. Also just for your intrest Stagecoach N.Z. have also showed intrest in them.Tom

Looking good Joshim, don't forget the new version of BVE (in development) allows hand drawn motor patterns (in the train editor, as oposed to the line patters previously used) So a bus would be even more possible in BVE. Love the bus objects too, specially the routemaster, don't supose a regent style bus would ever come about would it --

I have converted this object extremely sucessfuly into a Dennis Dart (The dimensions and windows are correct; All that needs doing is the sides switching and the 2nd door removing) What I think we need next is not necessarily a prototype, but a decent double-decker.Chris Leeswww.bvecornwall.tk- BVE Cornwall: Providing QUALITY Steam for BVE!

When they are ready I would really like one of the Routemasters so that Stooopid's fish and chips shop can have an advertising icon to use for their new shop at the corner of Main and Thornfilled Park drive.

>So there'll be a Stooopid's Fish and Chip advertisement on a bus? Actually the whole bus would be the ad. In the US, UK themed operations often have an older double deck London bus that they drive around or leave parked. The every add on the bus, including the destination sign is for the bar or food location or what ever. This is what I would like to do. That way, Stooopids could be mentioned any where in town or country without a building. A fun thing, usless, but fun.

Well, the buses to be used in my route, will be ENTIRELY realistic, so no Stooopids Fish n chippy ads!!! You can use the textures and make one for fun for use in a more light hearted or fictional route, I am sure Tom Beevers NETram might be a good place for on. BTW all over ads are permitted for non passenger operations in London, but passenger buses must be 80% red! However some rear all over ads are permitted. These are unlikely to be included, as the objects can not be generic. Also just for information purposes before anyone else asks about other vechicular objects the following are being made too:London Taxi both old type and new type
Various commercial vans (not just Transits! incl. VW/Mercs)
MANY cars, all realistic at the moment VW Golf as used in DLR and others are on their way incl. all sorts of makes for added realism
HGV's and Lorries have been made (as used in the DLR too)
Police cars that are used in London
Horses!!!Also don't forget the buildings!!! This will be very detailed I expect to exceed the 256 freeobject limit as well as walls and dikes, so this will only work with BVE 2.5! As for the DLR route, it is undergoing some finishing touches and some optimisation so that less stuttering is experienced! (I am starting to experience stutters! )

on the subject of buses on rails, i believe there is a low bridge in the quayside area of newcastle. the bus is laser guided through the centre and heavily reinforced bricks are used where the wheels pass over.

HiWhich Newcastle?(Upon Tyne,Under Lyne,NSW)Newcastle upon Tyne did have a short lived experimental bus service to the riverside business park, this was supposed to be guided by wires buried under the road surface over a short section but I dont recall it being a success(wasn't something similar proposed for the millenium dome services?).I suppose a guided bus of this type could be feasibly reproduced in bve(using peoples arms as signals perhaps?)Dave P.
