You Know You're Too Much Into BVE When – image 1

LAST EDITED ON Jun-18-03 AT 10:59 AM (EDT)

Just some humour here! Have a good laugh, no offence though! You Know You're Too Much Into BVE When...1. You put the BVE program in the Startup folder, so it would start up every time you boot up your computer.2. You get frustrated with the little variety of routes that are avaliable that you begin toa) demand BVE developers to build a dream route for you.b) keep chasing BVE developers 'when the route will be completed'.3. You set your default Messenger/AIM/YIM sounds to AWS bing/horn sounds.4. You yearn so much to be famous, and want to hold a moderator/leader post in the BVE community that you begin to create crappy routes/train and keep advertising them.5. When your students/fellow workmates hand up projects to you that are plaugrised, you tear them apart, saying "They're not in accordance to the Developer Guidelines!"6. You play BVE 23 hours a day, 7 days a week.7. Your BVE folder takes up half of your hard drive space, if not more.8. You install BVE on all the computers in the school/workplace.9. You even go into the extent of hacking into the admin/technician's account in order to sucessfully install BVE on them.10. You visit all the BVE forums constantly, at least once every 2 hours.11. When the CT BVE forum closed, you mourn as if you have lost one of your loved ones.12. You and your BVE buddies get into Freeware VS Copyright arguements the way rednecks get into Ford vs. Chevy brawls and railfans get into EMD vs. GE arguments. 13. You're the first to notice the slightest scenery detail error in non-fictional routes. 14. MSTS users : It's too elitist here! Get Nels/Macster!
BVE users : They Rulzz!!! Get lost and get a life you MSTS losers!!15. You successfully got your wife/girlfriend involved in BVE.16. Now your girlfriend/wife teases you that she can stop more accurately than you could do in BVE.17. You could now stop ealier than scheduled in badly-delayed routes, whereby newbies would probably get held up for 30 minutes behind time.18. You put Anas and Underwood in your top 'hit list'.19. If this ends up a flaming thread, which has got deleted/lock/archived eventually by Wulf.20. You know that there are much more too add to the list that just merely this!

hehe. well said! I answer 'yes' to some of those! There was a drawing I did about BVE that i thought might not go down too well at crotrainz being off topic, but i think i'm tempted to post it!
what about waking up, putting the comp straight on, checking the forums/ sites for BVEnews then doing hours of coding and realising it's 3 in the afternoon, you've had no breakfast and you're about to faint?
oh and supposedly revising, but deciding to spend 5 minuites doing something that turns into an hour and a half.
'oh i'll do something else when this song on the CD player is finished'
'oh i'll do something when the album is finished'
'just let me finish this cup of tea'
'i'll do it after dinner'
'it's been an hour since i last checked'
'oh no! it's half ten in the evening!!'

I plead guilty to some of the above charges m'lord.Though probably less now due to work commitments. Can't blame me for having hit lists after what I've seen from some of them. I have a nice long list in my head :p.

I'd rather use the 800km/h train.

Hahahaha! Very good that sentences! About 15th sentence, one thing: I don't need any girlfriend in order to enjoy my PF routes. I catch the Animals, Meddle or The Wall CD's, and when you arrive at one station, his own CD track sounds hehehehe . That happened me with Fearless St (Meddle), while Fearless song was sounding.Rufus.

Ah... yes im guilty to about half of those things...the worst of which is of course... I had my boyfriend try out BVE with me coaching him over his shoulder...and after a matter of a few km's he was doing at least as well as I do on average...hardly fair, seeing as I know a lot more about railroad physics and how BVE works... not to mention have oh... lets say a few hundred, maybe 1200 more hours than he does! Can't win em all...Tim Frost

You Know You're Too Much Into BVE When... (Part 2!)21. You have recommended 5 people to try out BVE.22. You upgrade your Internet Account solely to facilitate your BVE downloads.23. You later decide to subscribe to the unlimited access scheme so you can download BVE routes 24/7/365.24. You mark this forum/ BVE-Routes.com/ TrainSimCentral.co.uk/ RailSimRoutes.co.uk/ ScotRailSim.co.uk/ Any Popular BVE site as your home page.25. You decide to develop BVE routes that are out of rail-related.26. You decide to hold a vote for the best BVE routes.27. When you go to the extend of holding a competition of BVE Routes.28. Right at 5am, you finally managed to master the Art of Making B3D objects, and you run out of your room in your pyjamas screaming "Eureka!!"29. You workspace/table is filled with compasses, pencils, geometry instruments for the sole purpose of trying to measure the radius of the route you're trying to build.30. You spend more than 1 year in developing a route. (With no slacking!)31. You are the very first to know when a new version of a route is out, and when a new version of BVE is released.32. You keep copies of all the versions of BVE back to the first release, and you request others for them if you have missed them.33. You still finally decided to use the 2.5 and keep the rest because of the object limitations that are lifted in the latest version.34. You get very upset when a developer decides to hold back a route.35. You get even more pissed when you found out that it was due to another person's actions and you decided to confront him.36. You drool too much when you are looking at the screenshots of an upcoming route and you accidentally short-circuited the keyboard.37. You decide to take up Japanese courses so you can communicate with Mackoy regarding BVE development.38. You keep bugging Uwe Post for new features in RouteBuilder.39. When you spend more than 12 hours just to debug a syntax error you have carelessely made.40. And when you still cannot manage to find the error, and you decided to rewrite part of the route.

RE: You Know You're Too Much Into BVE When...

Believe or not I am only guilty of no. 25! I am making a bus route soon... (in fact I have started!)I have not changed any of my Windows sounds to trains or AWS sounds, they are to do with music and songs! My homepage is www.londonbuspage.com, I check this forum one or twice tops a day! In fact haven't been here for 4 days now!! BVE is in my game folder, no shortcuts anywhere else not even on my desktop! In fact have a look at my desktop here, it was taken for a collection at the LU & Rail forums, You Know You're Too Much Into BVE When – image 20So I guess i am not *addicted* to BVE, but do like and enjoy very much!! I have slacked off in developing, I get bored after a while and its back to solitare or minesweeper or even worse NFS(the old ones)! But I have far too much to keep me occupied, but the summer holidays would mean a little more spare time!

Joshim,
currently constructing the DLR Route for BVE check out MY NEW WEBSITE http://joshimsbveroutes.gamehorizons.net/
