LAST EDITED ON Jun-17-03 AT 11:02 AM (EDT)

Is now available off of the site. It's the full route, all 3 stops of it, but there are still some things to be added and corrected. I hope you enjoy driving it, now availabe from www.brj.rr.nu. The reason for release is it has been sitting on my HD for ages without work and I thought other people should be allowed to use it. I will work on it and finish it later this summer, hopefully. Comments as always are welcome. ====================

James, don't worry. Take all the time you need to finish the work. I say the same to everybody who is making routes now. Rufus (Currently building the MLR line and finishing The Wall Line)

>Another route with error9 - subscript out of range! I use
>BVE 2.5.3 and win2000, so where is the problem? I have no problems! Even with BVE 2.03! But I used TrackViewer since I had no time. So probably BVE has the error.

Eh, where did my signature go?
Where has my favourite LUL train gone? Maybe it was sent for bolt checking again...

RE: Tonbridge - Sevenoaks Pre-Release Available

I have the same problem as you Vince. BVE 2.5.3 and windows 2000. I wonder if this is a 2000 problem rather than a BVE problem itself...Anyone else out there with 2000?

RE: Tonbridge - Sevenoaks Pre-Release Available

Again I thank everyone for their emails, I really do appreciate them, even the critical (well constructive critisism ones.) ones! Before anyone tells me about the same problems the main ones you have encountered are ->- only one TSR on your track (40 mph, average speed )
- some point sounds are out of place
- Error 9's, this is confusing me just as much as my Physics revision
- Trains in worng formation
- Signal behaviour is wrong aproaching Sevenoaks, don't know how to fix this one?
- There is no AWS on this route, yet
- There are some others but only minor imrovementsAny more and put them here or in an email. Oh and a big thanks to everyone who liked the site design. ====================

RE: Tonbridge - Sevenoaks Pre-Release Available

James - hi again. I've had a little look at the signalling discrepancy again and I'm putting it here as I think my conclusions may be of use to other developers. After Hildenborough the order of signals is SV 4L, SV 6C, SV 8T, SV 12, SV 4L and SV 60, which is the Sevenoaks starter. Notice there are two signals labelled SV 4L. I thought this may be part of the problem but nothing changed when I altered the number of the second example, which is where all the fun is happening.I tried my other suggestion and it works. Change SV 4L, the one just before Sevenoaks, to a three-aspect signal and everything works fine. I suspect, therefore, that BVE reads from signal to signal when deciding aspects. A two aspect home signal can only be red or green and the green aspect is shown when the block ahead is clear, regardless of the aspect of the following signal (SV 60 in this case, at red). So SV 4L displays a green, which is relayed back to SV 12. SV 12 sees the green so it's perfectly happy to display a full green itself.Convert SV 4L to 3-aspect or to a 2-aspect distant (showing yellow or green only) and the system will work. I believe such ‘distant’ signals are available within BVE. If SV 4L is classed as a ‘distant’ it will show yellow because SV 60 is at red, and SV 12, seeing the yellow aspect, will set itself to YY accordingly.Does this make sense?Chris L.

RE: Tonbridge - Sevenoaks Pre-Release Available

>A two aspect
>home signal can only be red or green I think a two aspect signal can be red and green(-2), red and yellow(2), or no signal displayed at all(the third signal after the last .stop in your route).

RE: Tonbridge - Sevenoaks Pre-Release Available

James,If you change the two aspect to start as -4 instead of -2 or 2 (can't remember which one is r,y or r,g) then all the signals leading to red should go in sequence as green, double yellow, single yellow then red at the station.HTH'sSacha

RE: Tonbridge - Sevenoaks Pre-Release Available

I am concidering a 1066DC-style 80's scenario, with older trains and liveries for the route. I will try to correspond it as closely to the video as possible, I may even re-do Tonbridge junction to the pre-Eurostar style and have no 3rd rail on the 'old' London Road.Anyone interested, since my exams are over! ====================
