Screens look good... but what holds up the catenary, and there appears to be a gap between the edge side of the platforms and the end wall of the 'forms... just me or is something missing?Looks nice all in all though. 2 miles is 3.2km, so in order to qualify for the 2MC you might have to ask for an exception, or make a version of the route that starts or ends at a different point, like Boot.Tim Frost

Yeah, Im going to have to put something behind the forms to disguise the gap before release. Also the catenary is unfinished but of course will be finished before release. In fact, i'm just putting in some OLE poles now. Thanks for te nice comments TimCheers

Actually you can just modify the form.csv/b3d files to have ends, no need to 'disguise' it.Also, did you use smooth curves/points? I see one non-smooth point.Tim Frost

No, I tried to use the smooth curve program but I couldnt make head nor tail of it:'( so I just decided to do it the conventional way.Cheers

Eh, where did my signature go?
Where has my favourite LUL train gone? Maybe it was sent for bolt checking again...

RE: New website & 2MC?

There is a very good tutorial on the switch site. Its in german but translates well with babelfish, and the coding is in english and includes good screenshots that made it clear to me how to set a switch.

>Hi, yes the 2MC limit is 3.2km (but I am consdering Loop
which breaks the 3200m limit..)Sorry to say that 5.5km is probably outside the range of the 2MC
but if weel done by todays Smooth Curve, GLX,AWSon,FPX,BVETSS,
and MUTATE<1> technqiues then it may get a mention.Oh and I am allowing one specifc exception to the 2 Mile limit
in respect of routes. If you have modelled a UK 'heratige' line(like GCR or
Boness) then the 2 mile limit does not matter provided
that it is clearly indicated that the route is of
a preserved line. (NB This also includes the S&DJR route
someone did ages ago..)<1>(25)meter unloading technology assited trackside equipment..Alex

RE: New website & 2MC?

One word about freewebs though, as I started my site ther, I quickly exceeded my bandwidth limit and the first WEEK is limited to 100MB and the monthly limit is 500MB! So beware, if you are going to host that route you will exceed that bandwidth!BTW, like the way you have used my buses there, screenshots look good so far! (FYI before you accuse anyone else of object stealing I did give him permission to use that bus object! ) Sorry about that little comment in brackets I don't know what possessed me there...

RE: New website & 2MC?

Hi everyone. Thanks to Mark Milmine the route is planned to have working AWS as well as being BVETSS compliant. When the route is released I hope to host it on the freewebs site, with it being a fairly small filesize it should be alright. However if anyone wants to host it then please do contact me! There has been a problem with the OLE support placing and it may result in the route being diesel driven.Cheers

New website & 2MC? – image 5

The switch program is probably best learned by creating some test curves/switches/etc and then viewing them in Structure Viewer and just have a play around with them..... Once you get to grips with it, it is well worth it.You need to change the railtype to a blank rail and then place the switch in as a freeobj (that's how I do it anyway), then have another blank rail intersecting acting as the "point" in order to make the correct point sound as the train runs over it. Also, you can just use the curves as a railtype in itself. Don't worry if this all sounds jibberish, just keep playing about with some test routes and you'll soon get the hang of it But if you can't, never mind, because its looking good anyway!Peace,
ZB

RE: New website & 2MC?

>Or use the switch object as a rail type, that's what I did.. I usually use the curves as railtypes, while points as freeobjects. The reason why I use points as freeobjects, is sometimes you have to turn it 180 degrees around, for a reverse facing one.

RE: New website & 2MC?

The route is now 95% complete and is awaiting the addition of finishing touches. All bugs have been obliterated, AWS has been fitted (Thanks to Mark Milmine) and smooth curves have been fitted, see below. I managed to get the hang of the switch program in the end:7
