RE: BVE 80GB!? (Big Screens)

They're all duplicates. This probably happened because at least one of BVE's installers made new registry entries instead of updating the existing ones. I recommend that one backs up all routes and trains and uninstall the old version of BVE before attempting to install a new version. Since everything was installed in the same directory, all the entries are reporting the same size.

Talking about that in my BVE folder i have some weird files called:
ST6UNST.000
ST6UNST.001
ST6UNST.002
and ST6UNST.LOG
now i opened the .log in notepad and it said not to delete them because they're part of a setup program but i really wanna get rid of them! I get the feeling they were previous versions of BVEs installers as i have been through about 3 versions.

RE: BVE 80GB!? (Big Screens)

I had the exact thing happen when I installed BVE2.5 over the version I had, where each of the other two "programs" showed 3X the size of my actual BVE folder.Having WinXP,I could do a system restore
and then uninstalled the old one before putting in 2.5.

Maybe BVE just has one file there, as my "BVE\TV" one was just a temp one, but it regestered it, LOL.
I am downloading the REG cleaner now.Tom, try installing BVE to another location, like "Program Files\TV\BVE" then delete the three files, and see if it still runs.
Then you can do it on the real one. But then you will have another BVE in the Add and Remove Programs.Pete

I tried running BVE through WINE on my SuSE 8.1 box, and it didn't like it, to say the least! About all that I could get to run successfully was Notepad and Paint, and even that complained about not being registered properly, lol.Peace,

Is there a free version of VmWare available for download? I see that VmWare Workstation 4 is the latest version, but you must purchase a license. They have VmWare 3.5.1 archived on their website, is that a freebie? (Or is there a version of VmWare pre-installed with SuSE?)Peace,

ZB,It works as a demo until you have obtained a license, and yes, SuSE did include a full version 2 on their old 5.3 discs.CiaoSaxon Locomotive Works - "The difficult we do immediately; the impossible takes a little longer"http://www.zodiac-infosystems.co.uk/rail/bve
