Hi Gang!!Just a quick question to get a feel for whether route-builders are writing their routes within the 256 object limit imposed by BVE 2.3, or are going to town with the extra objects allowed by BVE 2.5.Given that my proposed routes are quite lengthy, I am probably going to need to use as many objects as I can fit. Therefore, unless there is some sneaky way of combining objects (e.g. 25m lengths of "scenery" complete with contours, trees and other features), I'm going to go way over 256 in total. What do other people do?Technical NumptyObject Limit – image 1

But some people have their drawing distance set to 200m so it is not advisable to make the object start at more than -150m as the object will suddenly appear before the player's eyes...

HAPPY NOW? It's not moving anymore.
It's still the same train but in another livery, that's all.

The more objects and complex the objects the longer the rendering time the slower the frame rate the chopper it gets. Even on a p3 650 with 32 meg video card and 390 meg of ram I still get bogged down on some routes.Jason

Tricky one...The picc's currently using way over 256 objects, i'd guess bout 300. I'm gonna try and keep NETram and 60's Branchline under 256 tho, and if 60BL exceeds I may be able to do a cut down version with less detail. Notice "may".--
