Just a few words to say a big public thank you to all the bve developers out there, the last few weeks have seen a rush of releases of the highest standard, routes and trains just get better all the time.
BVE is one of the very few programs I come back to on an almost daily basis, the feel of the program is superb and with the quality add ons available now a couple of hours(or snatched 15 minutes) of driving behind the controls of some distant train or a bit of dewy eyed reminiscence for machines now only available in preservation or even long gone from the UK scene provide for me an invaluable escape from the drudgery and stress of work/home/everday life.
I did code a few miles of very basic route but found that I simply could not make the time to complete it so I can tell you that the hours of hard work and creativity needed to produce something good is very much appreciated.
I would also like to thank those members of the bve community who are willing spend their time helping the less computer minded types out here, this is of huge value to us.Again, many thanks,Dave P.

RE: Appreciation

It really has evolved into an art form. The first time I drove a route of high quality I felt like I was moving through a landscape painting.Im slowing learning how to create my own work and I've come to appreciate what it entails but its also very rewarding. When I try to create an object or rail pattern and it works as I wanted,it feels great.I had a thought the other day after the B3D object maker came out that someday one of our resident geniuses is going to put all the utilities together in one package.Kind of a Unified BVE Theory. Thanks

RE: Appreciation

On the subject of appreciation you might like to know that BVE has caused an absolute sensation within my company since a Driver came across it some weeks ago. Since then Drivers, Driver Instructors, Driving Standards Managers, and Control staff have been downloading BVE, and finding it absolutely ‘dreadful’ (which I am told means better than excellent).Even the ‘neds’ at Reading Panel Box are abandoning signalling simulations to have a go. Gentlemen, hats are raised to you from the operating staff of Thames Trains.

Bill We are having two driving simulators for the 166’s being installed at huge cost next month, a comparison will be interesting!
