F40PH for BVE Re-released with new sounds and cab! – image 1

The F40PH for BVE has been re-released today. The original, by myself, with cab by Nathan Whitington, derived from the original GP38 by Steve Green, has recieved a full new set of sounds from my own recordings and a new cab, based on the NALW F40 cab for MSTS.Thanks go to Wulf at SLW for turning my mess of recordings from several different F40PH locomotives into a symphony of diesel power and turning a great cab from MSTS into a fantastic cab for BVE.Specific credits and notes are in the readme_f40.txt file which is displayed upon installing the locomotive. This locomotive is best suited to any 'US Desert Freight' mail or passenger run or the Rocky Mountains Express, but feel free to use it anywhere you please... except the LU! (and should you choose to use it there, NVTA nor SLW are responsible for damages to tunnel walls, bridges, the locomotive, or injury of passengers due to carbon monoxide poisoning, etc) This file is hosted on the NVTA server for copyright reasons but can be downloaded from SLW:http://www.zodiac-infosystems.co.uk/rail/bveFinally, a screenie:

>(and should you choose to use it there, NVTA nor SLW are
>responsible for damages to tunnel walls, bridges, the
>locomotive, or injury of passengers due to carbon monoxide
>poisoning, etc) I don't think Diesels exhaust carbon monoxide... Even if they did, it would become carbon dioxide by the time it reached air...

HAPPY NOW? It's not moving anymore.
It's still the same train but in another livery, that's all.

I think they do, but in smaller quantities than gasoline motors; any internal combustion engine never reaches 100% efficiency so there will be traces of CO as by-products of incomplete burning, CO as a gas is unstable and tries to combine with the haemoglobin in human blood, forming a super-stable compound called carboxy-haemoglobin which does not break down to release its oxygen, this is the effect of CO poisoning, you are suffocating in the middle of fresh air... in severe cases a blood transfusion is necessary.CiaoSaxon Locomotive Works - "The difficult we do immediately; the impossible takes a little longer"http://www.zodiac-infosystems.co.uk/rail/bve

RE: F40PH for BVE Re-released with new sounds and cab!!

I had one air freight delivered to the UK last night (Yes it has been done) and ran it on the new Brighton-Treston Park V2 route. What a treat. New locomotive, new route. Set the route to a foggy day* and it was wonderful. Every time I over powered the F40, it slipped all down the track . Actualy kept the Fast HST schedule too.
Congradulations to all involved in this project.* Bad video card on this machine, it allows me to set the graphics low to 200 meters and make it work. Set fog to about 180 meters and a light grey. Frame rate goes from 5 to 12-20

ride 2 times desert passenger today with this new f40ph
I like the sound at full throttle in up ramp, sometimes
it remember me the diesel hauled train Irun-Madrid that I take so many times in 70's 80's (heavy ramps and to much wagons +only one V200=slow climb 40-60km/h and long delays ,one hour or more )
