Hi Gang!!You all remember that I've been asking folks lots of questions regarding routebuilding recently. Well, I'm currently starting work on my very first BVE route, and all help so far has been gratefully received.Naturally, I would love to be able to produce all my own textures and objects, but I equally would love to just be able to get on and get things written!! I know that there is a fair bit of object sharing, particularly of train objects and the like, but I'm just trying to get a feel for whether or not there is much sharing of more mundane objects and textures, such as posts, trees and grass. On a copyright note, what would be the drill if I wanted to use someone else's textures and objects as a temporary measure and then adapt them to suit the location? Would I need permission to do this, or does the act of adapting of a texture/object make it a "new" object?Sorry for all the questions.Technical Numpty

http://www.railsimroutes.co.uk/developerguidelines has all the info you need, but I quote (from the aforementioned site) :"DO seek permission before modifying another person's work, be they objects, textures, configuration files, etc, before making these modifications public via any means."also, the opposite side of the coin"DO NOT modify other people's files (including 3D objects, textures, route files, sounds, bitmaps, train configuration files, etc), without seeking permission to do so from the original author of those files first"Hope this helps.Peace,
ZB
