If you mean that it stutters and the frame rate is still over 30, then yes everyone with BVE 4.1 is suffering from that. Hopefully, Mr.Mackoy is going to put that right soon. I've just installed BVE4.1 on a really quick games PC that has RAID and SLi dual graphics adaptors. It's not mine, unfortunately, (what a terrific PC.I think I'm in love!), but although it plays everything at unbelieveable frame rates, BVE still stutters.Tony H

Does this occur if you run other games Mike? Your PC specs are good and it should run just about anything well. Is the graphics card the original or has it been replaced recently? What Nvidia drivers have you got installed?Tony H

RE: BVE 4.1 - Screen Flickers?

The only other main game I play is Flight Sim 2004 and that runs fine, I have tried both the normal and beta drivers of the nvidia card and both do the same. It seems linked to BVE, I did have it a while ago and removed BVE totally and reinstalled it. It went away for a week or so then came back again.... very strange eh?

RE: BVE 4.1 - Screen Flickers?

Yes, it is odd. You may already know this but Nvidia drivers need to be eliminated from your system before installing new ones. See
http://www.guru3d.com/index.php?page=detonatorripIf you don't do this and just install over the top of the original drivers then all manner of faults occur. I've just started using the latest 71.90 drivers obtained from the same site and they seem ok, so you could try that.I should have asked you before, but does this happen on all BVE routes, and which ones are we talking about?Tony H

Ah I did not know about having to un-install nvidia drivers, I have ALWAYS installed over the top. I will try a compelte uninstall of the drivers and then install the new 71.90 version. Thanks for the help, I'll let you know how I get on!Mike

RE: BVE 4.1 - Screen Flickers?

Well let's hope it's fixed now. The Nvidia 6600 series boards are really great value for money, but there has been a lot of driver updates since their introduction. They have had all kinds of wierd faults with different motherboards, and I've been plagued by crashes since having mine on what has been a rock stable system. Some drivers are worse than others, but this latest version has so far been stable. Time will tell.Enjoy the train sim.Tony H

Tony H,“If you mean that it stutters and the frame rate is still over 30, then yes everyone with BVE 4.1 is suffering from that.”I’m running BVE at 1024x768/32 bit with 6xAA and 16xAF enabled on the video card with out any of the stutters you mention. With the default Uchibo route I get between 40 – 50 FPS.-djtPentium4/3.4GHz

>with BVE 4.1 flickering the screen every few seconds? Try re-installing the latest Nvidia drivers and latest DirectX. If still won't fix it, re-installing the Windows will do it as far as I remember.Anyway, once fixed, you will probably see that BVE won't run that smooth. To fix this, run Windows Media Player in the background AND once BVE is running press F2 until the Km/h,Fps... will dissapear completly. Then it will run as GranTurismo . It does work for me anyway.
