!Sandymill Electric and New Southern Route Realease! – image 1

LAST EDITED ON May-03-03 AT 06:49 AM (EDT)

The screens look good, but wait till you drive these excellent routes! Thrashing an 87 down the line will be one experience you'll never forget!Thats the impression i get anyway, but upon realease i am afraid that all the activities will be using eletric stock. Is this true? Because where i live, there is not electric pylons for at least 35-40 mins down the line. So i am used to seeing HST's, 170's, 158's and other sprinter generation DMU's, never electric, so i will miss them.
What do others think?
PeteMany Thanks,
Pete

HAPPY NOW? It's not moving anymore.
It's still the same train but in another livery, that's all.

RE: !!!Sandymill Electric and New Southern Route Realea

Since the entire route of Sandymill electric isnt electrified, there are several diesel runs. (but i wont go into details ).There is a diesel run also on the southern route, but since the route is entirely third rail its a bit pointless having a diesel run, though im sure if a crompton were to be built it wouldnt look out of place Giz

You can still download the unelectrified Sandymill route! Plus, theres Edinburgh - Carnoustie available as well. Its easy to change the train in the routefile, so you shouldnt have a problem running anything or everything with diesels

Edinbugh-Carnoustie...I remember that Though I think I need to re-download it--as I was getting a lot of RenewBlock errors, and just short of Cupar station, signal 29-R won't clear, and the schedule still says Edinburgh-Dundee. No one else has mentioned these, so it must be a faulty download on my part.(edit: Seems I already have the 150-2 on another PC, and I didn't download the new scenery file (at least it doesn't match anything I already have in my E-C folder). Oh, well )---PCJ

RE: !!!Sandymill Electric and New Southern Route Relea

Oops...I left the page with my previous message onscreen and edited it an hour or so after I posted it, so I didn't see your reply. I've DL/ed the replacement route file, and just to be sure, I'm getting the scenery file now, since it's filename doesn't match what I have previously for this route's scenery. I have a bad habit of not testing out routes as soon as I download them, since I usually store them on a removable drive on a system other than the one I actually use for BVE. When I'm ready for them, I shuttle them over through the home LAN and then install. It's gotten so bad that I had to create a download log so I remember where I got everything and whether I've installed it or not ---PCJ

Peter, HST do run on WJ-MK, there are no surprise to that. This is because several long distance routes served by Virgin from London to North Wales especially have non electrified sections along the way. Voyagers are common as well as these trains often run from the south via Kensington Olyimpia to the north.

Visit Southern BVE, home to the new fictionous Southern electric route, and also the Brighton - London Victoria route!
